Maintain request token mappings in pinned CPU memory and upload pending ranges before inference. Fuse prefill and decode padding with Triton, reduce CPU input construction overhead, and mark synchronization sites for further analysis.

Validation: 128 tests passed across padding kernels, model inputs and outputs, MTP batch alignment, CUDA Graph replay, and overlap paths.
Restore blank-line spacing from the PR base without changing code behavior.
Keep pinned CPU request indexes local and publish pending GPU indexes before DP cache transfers. Reuse GPU index tables for cache loading and offloading, and cache prompt ID buffers per CUDA stream to avoid unnecessary allocation and synchronization.

Document the lifecycle and cross-stream risks of borrowing inference index tables. Update regression tests for stream isolation, async counting, DP index publication, and cache loading.

Validation: 42 focused tests passed; git diff --check passed.
Replace linked nodes with a deque while preserving allocation order, recently freed index reuse, capacity tracking, and duplicate-release checks.

Validation: 51 request-manager tests passed; formatting and git diff --check passed.
Rely on the inference entrypoint stream dependency to order first-token writes before GPU reads. Document that CPU request updates do not require waiting for the CUDA write and that future stream changes must preserve this dependency.

Validation: 19 PD and paged-allocation tests passed; git diff --check passed.
Replace the global CPU request table with per-request pinned-cache and pure-GPU modes. Keep token-level interfaces over page-stride allocation and append-only request indexes.

Centralize batch H2D stream ordering and pinned-source lifetime management, and update cache, PD/DP, metadata and benchmark callers.

Keep lifecycle tests runnable without CUDA and cover real GPU uploads separately. Fix formatting and lint issues.

Validation: 228 tests passed on GPUs 6/7; 72 passed and 156 CUDA-dependent tests skipped without visible GPUs. Black, Flake8 and diff checks passed.
Keep request index mode selection in the helper factory and remove duplicate ReqManager state, validation and logging.

Use English diagnostic messages across the affected runtime, benchmark and test files while preserving Chinese comments. Update tests and fixtures accordingly.

Validation: 225 GPU tests passed; 72 CPU tests passed and 153 CUDA-dependent tests skipped. Black, Flake8 and diff checks passed.
Align CPU read bounds across index modes and reject partial-page appends before modifying page cache state. Extend regression coverage and add a standalone pinned allocation rounding and reuse prototype.
Admit requests using required KV capacity before assigning optional decode headroom from the remaining batch budget. Keep one allocation per decode request and cover capacity boundaries, request ordering, and PD cleanup behavior.

Walkthrough

The change adds page-based KV allocation and three request token-index storage modes. It routes request-index operations through a shared abstraction, adds asynchronous H2D copying with pinned-source retention, and moves prefill and decode input padding into Triton helpers.

Changes: Paged KV and request token indexes

Layer / File(s) Summary
Page-based KV allocation
lightllm/common/kv_cache_mem_manager/*, lightllm/common/req_manager/base.py, unit_tests/common/test_kv_cache_allocator.py, unit_tests/common/test_req_manager_page.py
The allocator tracks page starts and requires page-aligned capacity, allocations, and releases. It returns expanded pinned CPU index tensors. The memory manager passes page size to the allocator, and the request manager initializes page-aligned state.
Request token-index modes and lifecycle
lightllm/server/api_cli.py, lightllm/server/core/objs/start_args_type.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/infer_req_ext1.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/infer_batch.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/infer_req_ext.py, unit_tests/common/test_req_token_index.py, docs/kv_cache_page_size.md
The request token-index interface supports pinned full-index caching, page-compressed caching, and GPU-only storage. Request creation, prefix matching, release, metadata extraction, and backend cache operations use this interface. The CLI and StartArgs expose the mode setting.
Asynchronous index uploads and KV transfers
lightllm/common/cuda_wrapper.py, lightllm/common/req_manager/req_sampling_params.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/*, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/pd/*, unit_tests/common/test_pinned_memory_stream.py, unit_tests/common/test_req_manager_cpu.py
The backend batches pending token-index uploads and coordinates stream dependencies. Native H2D submissions retain pinned source tensors until a completion event. Prompt-token counting uses a reusable GPU buffer per CUDA stream.
Triton input padding
lightllm/common/basemodel/basemodel.py, lightllm/common/basemodel/triton_kernel/pad_*, unit_tests/common/basemodel/*, unit_tests/common/basemodel/triton_kernel/*
Prefill and decode builders now use Triton helpers to pad input tensors. CUDA tests compare outputs with PyTorch references and exercise CUDA graph replay.
Documentation and benchmarks
docs/kv_cache_page_size.md, test/benchmark/*, test/benchmark/static_inference/static_benchmark.py
The documentation describes allocator units, index modes, lifecycle, and transfer constraints. Standalone benchmarks measure pinned allocation, H2D source lifetime, event waits, and token-index allocation. The static benchmark uses request token-index objects.

Explanation

Title is vague and generic. It reads "Wzj demo", which is a developer's initials plus the word "demo". It does not describe the changeset. The changes cover KV cache page-size allocation, request token-index modes (pin_mem_cache, pin_mem_page_cache, pure_gpu), pinned H2D batch copy with release-pool source retention, padding kernels for prefill and decode inputs, and hybrid radix-cache prefix restoration. The title conveys none of this.

Resolution

Replace the title with a short, specific summary of the main change. For example: "Add page-based KV allocation and selectable request token-index modes" or "Refactor hybrid radix-cache prefix restoration with async pinned H2D uploads." Choose the summary that matches the primary intent of the PR author.

235-235: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Reject a missing CPU source before the batch copy.

submit_pending_uploads appends the None result of get_upload_indexes() to cpu_slices without a check. The None reaches copy_batch, so the TypeError that the test expects comes from the copier call, not from an explicit check. The assertion accepts whatever TypeError that call raises. A change in the copier can change the exception or its source, and the test can then pass or fail for the wrong reason.

Add an explicit check before the append. The check raises before the copy and before progress is marked, so gpu_index_submitted_len stays unchanged. Then make the test assert this error with match=.
