Explain:

AstrBot goes in AI and Agents > Personal Assistants, after hermes-agent. It is a self-hosted AI assistant that runs agents, MCP, skills, and RAG, and connects them to chat apps such as Telegram, Slack, QQ, Feishu, DingTalk, and WeCom. Python developers extend it by writing plugins, and its ecosystem has 1000+ of them.

Adoption trajectory (ClickPy, checked 2026-09-22):

• Monthly PyPI downloads grew from 3.3K in Sep 2025 to about 40K a month in Jun–Aug 2026, roughly 12x in a year. The last 30 days total about 25K.
• For comparison, hermes-agent (the current obvious choice) had 148K over the same 30 days.
• Most installs go through Docker or the desktop app, so PyPI undercounts real usage. That is a judgment call, not a measured figure.

Quality requirements:

• Active: last commit 2026-09-21. Not archived.
• Stable: v4.28.1 on PyPI, with 168 releases.
• Documented: README with deployment guides, plus docs at astrbot.app.
• Established: repo created 2022-12-08. 40.8k stars.

Displacement

Not needed. Personal Assistants lists one entry (hermes-agent), which is under the cap.
