Summary

Prepares this repository to make Bootstrap 6 its primary version.

  • Updates all 9 remaining examples to Bootstrap 6.0.0-alpha.1.
  • Replaces @popperjs/core with @floating-ui/dom and updates the
    Vanilla Calendar Pro peer dependency used by browser import maps.
  • Migrates Sass from @import to @use and ports overrides to v6's
    config and theme-token system.
  • Updates markup and classes for Drawer, Menu, theme variants, renamed
    utilities, responsive prefixes, and the navbar drawer.
  • Uses versioned jsDelivr assets with SRI in the starter and ESM
    examples.
  • Points documentation and example links at the production v6 docs and
    their final main locations.
  • Adds a Netlify deploy-preview build with a landing page for all 9
    examples.
  • Limits the CI matrix to example directories changed by each commit.
  • Removes the React/Next.js example and its Dependabot entry for now.
    React Bootstrap does not yet support Bootstrap 6 markup.
  • Keeps the Bootstrap 5 examples available through the v5-dev branch.

Refs #996.

Test plan

  • npm ci && npm test passes for color-modes, icons-font, parcel,
    sass-js, sass-js-esm, vite, vue, and webpack
  • Starter CDN assets load with the published alpha SRI hashes
  • Build the aggregate Netlify preview from clean installs
  • Browser smoke test all 9 preview subpaths and their assets
  • Exercise drawer, menu, popover, and color-mode interactions
  • Check the updated alpha spacing scale for visual regressions
  • Verify light and dark color modes
  • Verify selective CI detection for one, zero, and all examples

Migrate all examples except react-nextjs (blocked on React Bootstrap
v6 support) to Bootstrap v6:

- Point the bootstrap dependency at github:twbs/bootstrap#v6-dev
  (v6 alpha isn't published to npm/CDN yet) and swap
  @popperjs/core for @floating-ui/dom
- Convert Sass from @import to @use, updating partial paths and
  variable overrides to v6's config/theme token system
- Update markup and classes per Bootstrap's v5-to-v6 migration guide:
  offcanvas -> drawer, dropdown -> menu, btn-primary/secondary ->
  btn-solid/btn-outline + theme-*, text-* -> fg-*, fs-1..6 ->
  t-shirt sizes, bg-light/bg-dark -> the neutral bg-* scale,
  navbar-dark -> data-bs-theme, and the navbar's collapse toggle ->
  drawer
- Point docs links at the v6-dev Netlify preview
  (v6-dev--twbs-bootstrap.netlify.app) instead of getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3
- Update READMEs (including root) with a v6-dev preview notice and
  branch-aware links

react-nextjs keeps Bootstrap 5 and react-bootstrap@2 since
react-bootstrap has no Bootstrap v6-compatible release yet and its
components render their own v5 markup; its README documents this.

This PR is not to be merged as it will live as v6-dev until we release Bootstrap v6 alpha but @mdo, could you please check the content, rendering, and DOM modifications in this PR so that we agree this v6-dev branch can be at some point the main branch. 🙏

React Bootstrap has no Bootstrap v6-compatible release yet, and its
components render their own DOM, so pairing it with v6's CSS breaks
styling entirely. The example was dropped from twbs/examples' v6-dev
branch for the same reason (twbs/examples#997); this removes its
listing from the docs examples page to match.

Replace the temporary v6-dev dependencies and preview URLs with the
published alpha package, versioned CDN assets, and production docs.
Prepare links and automation for the v6 branch becoming main, and keep
the starter navbar menu readable within its dark theme.

Assemble every example under one Netlify deploy preview so reviewers can
inspect a pull request from a single landing page.

Detect changed example directories before expanding the CI matrix, so
unrelated examples do not spend time installing and building.
