* fix(cosmos): keep existing-child routing updates incremental Resolve known partition ranges by ID before ancestry lookup so metadata updates do not retry and reload the entire routing map after ancestors are removed. Add sync/async regressions and opt-in live two-generation split coverage. Release preparation
This is a manual release changelog PR targeting Azure/azure-sdk-for-python:main.
Prepare-Release.ps1could not install its tooling: Azure Artifacts returned HTTP 401, and public PyPI dependency downloads failed with connection errors/timeouts. It stopped before updating release tracking or modifying release files. Release tracking remains pending and must be completed separately.The publish pipeline has not been triggered. After preparation is complete and this PR is reviewed and merged, a human must queue pipeline 984 and approve azure-cosmos only, never azure-mgmt-cosmosdb.
