Tests whether pinning mongo to the 8.0 LTS line lets the replica set start on the ubuntu-26.04 runner (vs the 8.3 rapid-release that crashes). If this test goes green, we restore ubuntu-latest + mongo:8.0 across the repos and drop the 24.04 pin; if it fails, the 24.04 pin stays. Probe result: mongo:8.0 (LTS) crashes on ubuntu-26.04 the same way mongo:8.3 does — 'container is not running' at replica-set startup. So it is not the rapid-release; every mongo 8.x (noble-based) fails on the 26.04 runner, while mongo:7 starts fine. The ubuntu-24.04 pin (already merged) is the correct standing fix, not a stopgap. Returning to ubuntu-latest must wait until the mongo-8-on-Ubuntu-26.04 incompatibility is resolved upstream. Closing. |
