Night shift report
WHY THIS MATTERS: The main item is a behaviour change for Managed Agents, not just new wording. Until now the docs said that Console-level web search settings applied to the Messages API only. Now
web_searchin a Managed Agents session also follows the organization's domain restrictions, and the agent gets only results that both the org list and the agent's per-toolallowed_domains/blocked_domainspermit. Release notes say sessions have followed the org Allow web search on/off switch since October 6. Any team whose agent relied on domains its org blocks will see results silently narrowed. The other Managed Agents change loosens a rule:github_repositoryresources no longer requireauthorization_token. On the Claude Code side, the agent-view changelog backfills fixes from v2.1.295 to v2.1.299, including a--bgparsing bug that could start background sessions over and over.HIGHLIGHTS:
web_search+ org domain restrictions (release-notes/overview.md,managed-agents/tools-web-restrictions.md,server-tools.md,web-search-tool.md): Console Capabilities settings now apply to sessions. Results are the intersection of the org list and the agent's lists. If web search is disabled,web_searchreturns an error result to the agent and the session continues; a Messages API request fails with a 400 instead.github_repository.authorization_tokenis now optional (managed-agents/github.md): public repos clone without a token and the agent can commit, butgit pushfails. Private repos fail to clone after the session is created.--bgparsing fix (v2.1.299) (agent-view.md):--bg/--backgroundcount as the flag only before a bare--and outside another flag's value. Ambiguous positions now exit withCouldn't tell whether --bg is a flag or text here. Before this, a prompt or reply of--bgcould start new background sessions repeatedly.←is stopped or left unsent, and stays in history. Before this it could keep running where you couldn't see it or run twice, and prompts typed duringSessionStarthooks were lost. v2.1.295 also changes three things:Ctrl+Cno longer ends a self-paced/loop, an exitingclaude agentsno longer starts a new supervisor (macOS/Linux), and folder-access entries stay stable after macOS updates.sub-agents.md): new section on messaging a subagent by name after a restart (names survive since v2.1.299; fall back to the agent ID fromagent-{agentId}.meta.json). Also notes that before v2.1.304 a resumed subagent could forget its most recent work. The SDK capsskillspreload at the first 32 distinct names, andagent_idstays stable across resume.desktop.md,desktop-quickstart.md,desktop-linux.md): the docs no longer describe three tabs (Chat/Cowork/Code); Code is now at the top of the sidebar. There's a new Context card in the session details panel showing context usage as a percentage with a per-category breakdown. "Cowork tab" wording is dropped across the docs.Ctrl+Cwith a text selection clears or copies the selection instead of exiting, and ultracode can't be set from the agent-view dispatch input (useclaude agents --effort ultracode). In the API docs, anthropic.betais no longer marked SDK-span-only,search-results.mdPython examples now use dict literals, and the sessionbudgettypeis documented as alwayslimit.Created by night-shift claude-yolo
