The refresh workflow pushed directly to main, which the branch ruleset rejects, so the badges had been frozen since 2026-08-22.

The `Update badges` workflow refreshed `.shields/vale.json` and `.shields/sg.json` by committing straight to `main`. The `main` ruleset rejects that push (`GH013: Repository rule violations`), so the job failed on 58 of its last 61 runs and both badges have been frozen at `2026-08-22`.
This removes the badges and what fed them:
`vale-detect.cjs` and `sg-detect.cjs` keep their `--json` mode for manual use; only the comments naming the badge job as a consumer were reworded. Upstream release detection still runs through the Vale and ast-grep upgrade workflows, which open PRs.
No changeset: nothing in the published package changes.
