swastim01/README.md

Hi, I'm Swasti.

I'm a final-year undergraduate at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad studying Electronics and Communication Engineering with a minor in Data Science.

I enjoy building software that solves real problems. Over the past few years, I've worked across full-stack development, machine learning, and AI, building products that combine intuitive user experiences with intelligent backend systems. What I enjoy most is taking an idea from a blank page to a working product—designing the architecture, writing the code, debugging the countless edge cases, and watching everything come together.

Some of the projects I've worked on include:

  • TaxEase – an AI-powered tax filing platform that uses OCR, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and local language models to simplify tax filing and answer user queries.
  • SmartLend – a peer-to-peer lending platform featuring an ML-powered credit scoring system built with XGBoost and an end-to-end loan management workflow.
  • Enterprise Data Platform Modernization – during my internship at Barclays, I worked on migrating a large internal application from Streamlit to a React + FastAPI architecture, rebuilding business workflows and developing reusable frontend and backend components.
  • Along the way, I've also explored computer vision, embedded systems, RTL design, and hardware projects, which have given me an appreciation for building systems across the software-hardware stack.

Beyond projects, I enjoy reading other people's code almost as much as writing my own. Open source has been one of my biggest learning resources, and I'm gradually working toward contributing back to the community through meaningful pull requests and well-documented projects. I believe good software isn't just about making something work: it's about writing code that's understandable, maintainable, and useful for others.

This GitHub is where I document what I'm building, what I'm learning, and the projects I'm proud of. I'm always experimenting with new technologies, improving old projects, and trying to become a better engineer with every repository.
