• Your purpose in using this API:
  Badr is a non-commercial educational Android app that helps children aged 7–11 learn Islamic foundations through guided lessons and stories of the prophets. It is currently being developed for an educational technology competition. We will show a small, curated set of hadith to children, always displayed exactly as provided, with attribution to Sunnah.com and the collection and number. Before anything reaches children, we cross-check each hadith's text and numbering against a second independent source, and each hadith is planned to be reviewed by a qualified scholarly reviewer before publication. The app has no advertising and does not sell or share data.

• API rate limits:
  We need a one-time sync of the collections below, then occasional re-checks. No live per-user queries.

  • Maximum requests per second: 2
  • Maximum requests per day: 5,000

• Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
  An offline dump would suit us best, since we store a verified local copy. Until it is available, API access works for us.

• What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
  Arabic (primary), English (secondary).

• What programming language will your API client be in?
  Python.
