perf(prune): backport efficient history shard pruning to v2.5.2
base-v2.5.2.8 # Conflicts: # Cargo.lock
The node still stops: dropping the transaction would emit a block that differs from the chain, and failing execution would reject a valid block.
Chains list the code and storage their pre-execution changes commit straight to the state DB; the wrapper emits what changed as code changes and a system call.

Merges Base's reth tag
base-v2.5.2.8, the version pinned by Basev1.5.0(required on Base Sepolia before the Denim hardfork, 2026-10-21 18:00 UTC). Upstream adds snapshot download options and faster history pruning; onlyCargo.lockconflicted.Two Firehose changes for Base v1.5.0:
PreExecutionWrites: a chain lists the code and storage its pre-execution changes commit straight to the state DB. The wrapper reads them before and after and emits what changed: code as block-level code changes, storage inside a system call from the system address to the written account. Base needs it for the BaseTime predeploy that Denim installs, which the tracer could not see.FirehoseLiveHooksgains aPreExecutionWritesassociated type.0x79, enabled by Base's Everest upgrade) still stops the node, now with a message naming the transaction and its type.cargo test -p reth-firehose -p reth-firehose-testspasses.
