Summary

  • Document spacefast.config.ts, defineConfig, exported types, async configuration, imports and executable-config precautions.
  • Explain permanent JSONC support, discovery precedence, explicit selection, and failure without fallback when the selected configuration is invalid.
  • Give a manual migration that preserves existing settings and the project link. Clarify that sf migrate migrates a website, not a config file.
  • Explain connected Git builds versus raw uploads and hosted MCP publishing.
  • Update setup, crons, Git guidance and agent discovery links. Keep valid JSONC examples.
  • Add built-output coverage and declare the existing Website-owned JSON Schema as a composed-site dependency, with precise audit matching.

Generated API/CLI references are deliberately separate: the existing reference-refresh PR owns their single producer-generated snapshot.

Verification

Using Bun 1.3.11 and Vale 3.17.1: check, validate, build, 30 tests, generated verification, public safety, prose, routes and composed-site audit pass. The migration example was also executed through the configuration loader to verify TypeScript precedence, async imports, omitted undefined values and refusal to fall back from invalid TypeScript.

Issues

All clear! No issues remaining. 🎉

6 issues already resolved
  • The documented sf build then sf publish <output> --prebuilt flow drops project config. sf build puts the resolved sf.jsonc only in .spacefast/build-output.tgz, not in the framework output directory, so publishing that directory loses fallback, crons, access and routing rules. (fixed by commit 9302a80)
    Found by Indent Review Agent
  • content/(serve)/routing.mdx still says the config file is sf.jsonc and lists only the JSON aliases. config-file.mdx, cli/project.mdx and cli/index.mdx now say spacefast.config.ts takes precedence, so the routing page contradicts them. (fixed by commit 9302a80)
    Found by Indent Review Agent
  • The sf init scaffold shown in content/cli/project.mdx lists eight commented keys, but the CLI's TypeScript scaffold writes only three (fallback, meta, build). The functions.mdx page also still says --runtime functions writes sf.jsonc. (fixed by commit 9302a80)
    Found by Indent Review Agent
  • The quoted sf crons ls empty-state output in crons.mdx now says "...to spacefast.config.ts", but the CLI still prints "...to sf.jsonc", and content/cli/db.mdx:224 still quotes the sf.jsonc wording. (fixed by commit 9302a80)
    Found by Indent Review Agent
  • Several pages still tell readers to add settings to sf.jsonc (zero-runtime.mdx:8, database.mdx:11, environment-variables.mdx:64, troubleshooting.mdx:70, customization.mdx:115). In a project created by sf init, spacefast.config.ts takes precedence, so a new sf.jsonc is ignored and the runtime, templates, fallback or theme never applies. (fixed by commit ac60665)
    Found by Indent Review Agent
  • The --config rows for sf git connect, sf git update and sf git build in content/cli/git.mdx (lines 48, 125, 160) still say "Path to an sf.jsonc". The CLI accepts spacefast.config.ts or sf.jsonc, and config-file.mdx in this PR says so too. (fixed by commit e6e49da)

Check configuration concepts without requiring exact prose.

The configuration test can fail after a wording or Markdown-formatting change even when the documented behavior remains correct. Keep stable identifiers and test the documented concepts with narrower matches instead of requiring complete sentences or numbered formatting.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Direct users to their existing configuration file.

If a project uses only sf.jsonc, this message can direct its user to create spacefast.config.ts. Since spacefast.config.ts takes precedence, the new file can cause the existing JSONC settings to be ignored. Name both supported formats, or refer users to the project’s existing configuration file.

Fixed in 9302a80. The guidance now tells readers to add crons to their existing TypeScript or JSONC configuration and not create a second file. I removed the literal-output block rather than invent a message the CLI does not print.

Addressed the routing precedence mismatch and the wording-sensitive test assertions in 9302a80. Routing now names TypeScript precedence and links to the authoritative discovery order. The tests use narrower concept/identifier matches. Build, 30 docs tests, public safety, prose, and route verification pass.

Addressed the remaining cross-guide instructions in ac60665 and all three Git --config tables in e6e49da. Guides now direct readers to their existing configuration instead of creating a lower-priority JSONC file. The cross-guide changes passed link, public-safety, and prose validation; the final table edit passes diff checks.
