Summary

This PR demonstrates a documented and human-validated AI-assisted development workflow in BodySimPy.

AI-assisted workflow

GitHub Copilot was used to propose candidate configuration-validation edge cases.

AI-generated suggestions were treated as candidate engineering inputs rather than authoritative requirements. Proposed behaviour was reviewed against the existing BodySimPy physical and software constraints before implementation.

Engineering validation

The review preserved important modelling requirements including:

• physically valid rectangular hollow-section geometry
• signed loading behaviour
• strict configuration validation
• explicit rejection of invalid engineering inputs
• no arbitrary limits introduced solely from AI suggestions

Unsupported or ambiguous assumptions were rejected or modified before implementation.

Changes

• documents the AI-assisted development and validation process
• adds validated configuration edge-case tests
• strengthens configuration validation where engineering review supported the change
• records the distinction between AI suggestions and final human engineering decisions
