feat(mobile): wrap shared links and text in a saved prompt template - #27878
When I share a link or some text to T3 Code from another app, I usually want the same instructions around it every time ("review this", "summarize this"). Right now I have to type them into every share.
Change
Now you can save prompt templates in Settings → Chat → Share templates on mobile. When a share arrives and you have templates, the new-thread draft asks which one to use before the content goes in. The shared text goes where the template says {{shared}}, or after the template when it has no placeholder. Shared files still attach. With no templates, sharing works exactly as before.
Templates live in this device's mobile preferences, since only the mobile app is a share target. Add, edit, and delete them inline. Deleting a template that has text asks to confirm.
The import waits until you pick a template or No template, so the draft is filled once and needs no undo step.
docs/user/composer.md describes the feature next to the existing share-sheet note.
Scope and approval
This adds optional saved templates and a template-selection workflow to mobile sharing. Maintainer approval of the direction and scope remains outstanding under CONTRIBUTING.md. No triaged issue, approved discussion, or human approval is linked in this PR. Automated review is not a substitute for that approval.
Verification
Original feature verification (historical; not rerun on the updated head)
Tests.share-templates.test.ts covers the placeholder, appending, file-only shares, and shared text with $&. incomingShareImport.test.ts gains a case that fails without the import change. vp run check:changed is green.
iOS Simulator (iPhone 18 Pro, iOS 27.0), isolated dev server. I added two templates, relaunched, and both were still there. I shared pages from Safari's share sheet. The picker appeared, and each template filled the draft as expected. After I deleted the templates, a share imported straight into the draft with no picker.
Pre-existing dev warning. React logs Cannot update a component (NewTaskDraftScreen) while rendering a different component on the no-template path too. The import starts while its phase atom is read during render, which this PR doesn't change. The screenshots below are cropped above that dev-only toast.
Not tested. Android, and the picker in the no-model fallback (a one-line render with the same element).

Review follow-up: the remaining Macroscope legacy-handoff warning assumes sourceShareCreatedAt is supplied for a legacy inbox item. The importer supplies it only for schema version 2; version 1 continues to match the persisted bare-ID receipt. The regression reproduced duplicate text before this fix and passes afterward, including preserving an edited legacy draft before importing later handoffs. The hosted correctness gate still awaits reviewer reassessment; this explanation does not claim that gate has cleared.
At e36402d1b8f05e36ef5320b718094705c505e3a3, each new handoff gets a fresh attachment prefix for both files and images, preventing repeated shares of identical content from losing attachments. Resuming a saved draft retains its stored attachment IDs. The regression failed before the fix with two unique IDs instead of four; all 19 model tests now pass.
vp run check:changed f148c5b160295ddb60229460123f01ff10cda0f8 passed for this follow-up delta: model tests, seven selected compiler cases, affected mobile/script types, formatting, lint and unused-code checks. The earlier full main-integration check below was not repeated. Hosted CI and reviews must assess this head. Native iOS/Android verification remains unavailable for these updates; the media above documents the original feature revision.
Follow-up implementation and verification: GPT-6.1 Sol, Codex harness through T3 Code.
Earlier compatibility verification

Each new handoff has its own template choice and timestamped import receipt, so re-sharing identical content retains the new template and user edits. Durable inbox version 2 distinguishes new handoffs from legacy version 1 items: resuming an interrupted legacy import still honors its bare-ID receipt and preserves edited draft text. Both inbox versions decode successfully.
The regression reproduced duplicate text before the legacy fix. All 35 focused tests passed afterward. The required vp run check:changed against that main revision passed 136 tests across five files, compiler checks, affected types, formatting, lint and unused-code checks.
Native iOS/Android verification was unavailable in this update. The media and simulator results above document earlier revisions. Hosted CI and reviews must be assessed at the new head.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds optional saved templates for mobile shares, applied to editable draft text before sending. The remaining Medium legacy-handoff duplication finding is handled by the separate correctness gate.

Mobile settings now support reusable share templates. For incoming shared text, the draft screen can offer template choices and apply the selected template before importing the text into a draft. Incoming-share drafts now use schema version 2, while version 1 remains accepted.

The draft screen offers template choices when templates are available. The import applies the selected template before merging shared text into the draft. Draft receipts include the share creation timestamp. Generated incoming-share drafts use schema version 2, and decoding accepts versions 1 and 2. Tests cover templated imports and schema decoding. Let a new share receipt append its text.
1625-1626: Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Let a new share receipt append its text.
mergeComposerDraftContentState checks the receipt before it merges text, so a second handoff with a new sourceShareCreatedAt is not treated as a duplicate. The text merge still runs on that handoff. If the draft already ends with the same wrapped text, mergeComposerDraftText returns existing unchanged. The function then records the new receipt in importedShareIds, so the handoff is marked as imported while its text is not appended.
Limit the tail-match check to content that has no sourceShareCreatedAt receipt. A new receipt should always append its text. Retries of the same handoff are already caught by the receipt check, because the first merge stores that receipt.

Update mergeComposerDraftText so content with a sourceShareCreatedAt receipt
bypasses the duplicate-text early return and appends its text; retain the
existing duplicate suppression for content without a receipt. Retries of the
same handoff remain handled by the receipt check in
mergeComposerDraftContentState.
Include the persisted handoff timestamp in generated attachment IDs.
1658-1659: Major · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win
Include the persisted handoff timestamp in generated attachment IDs.
incomingShareIdForPayloads hashes the payload URI, so a later handoff of an edited file from the same URI reuses the same share ID. buildIncomingShareDraft then generates the same attachment ID for that share ID and index. The new timestamp-based receipt allows the handoff past the receipt guard, but mergeComposerDraftContentState still drops the incoming attachment as a duplicate.
The attachment filter predates this PR, but this PR makes distinct handoffs reach that filter. Include createdAt in both generated attachment IDs. The persisted share reuses the same createdAt on retry, so retry deduplication remains stable.

Use a guaranteed-unique handoff discriminator in version-2 attachment IDs.
335-335: Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Quick win
Use a guaranteed-unique handoff discriminator in version-2 attachment IDs.
When a later same-URI handoff follows consumption of the earlier share, both handoffs can use the same share ID and attachment IDs. The merge keeps the old attachment, filters the new attachment, and consumes the new share.
Include a guaranteed-unique per-handoff value in both version-2 file and image attachment IDs. createdAt alone is not sufficient unless the provider also guarantees its uniqueness, because new Date().toISOString() has millisecond resolution.

Update version-2 attachment ID construction for both files and images so each
handoff includes a guaranteed-unique per-handoff discriminator; do not rely on
createdAt alone unless its uniqueness is guaranteed. Locate the ID construction
shown by the input.id and index-based template and apply the same discriminator
to both attachment types.
