fix(connect): show why relay unlink failed - #25198
Verification incomplete: the requested real desktop and mobile failure recordings have not been captured. The existing local web captures below use a synthetic Clerk account shell and do not prove the normal signed-in desktop or native mobile flow.
Unlinking a relay could fail with upstream_unavailable, and Account then showed a bare error while Settings reported success after only disconnecting locally. Both now show a short error with Show more, Copy error and Copy trace ID, and Settings reports relay cleanup failures and refreshes link state.
Evidence
Current head: b17e71b05501e913fd3b6d4a0635078bb88ddcce.
Blocked on a disposable Clerk login. The normal desktop Account modal requires Clerk isSignedIn in T3ConnectAccountPages.tsx. Settings skips relay DELETE when the Clerk token is null in linkEnvironment.ts. Mobile's SettingsAuthRouteScreen.tsx likewise requires Clerk sign-in; local server pairing authenticates environment RPC, not a T3 Connect account. The repo provides relay deployment and test commands, but no supported local account/login mode. Replacing authentication would repeat the rejected synthetic setup.
Source inspection confirms mobile's T3ConnectProfilePage.tsx shows the full decoded error and trace ID in its existing dialog with Copy trace ID. This is not a native execution result. Real desktop and mobile recordings remain outstanding; hosted-account cleanup and the production failure cause also remain unverified.
Current-head CI passed, including the nine controller browser cases, two toast browser cases, four web unlink cases and nine shared relay decoder cases. Those tests do not replace the missing client recordings.
Existing synthetic-account web captures
Linux web on corex, recorded before the rebase (all nine patches unchanged), against an isolated T3 server and the real relay HTTP handlers with a synthetic account and a forced deprovisioning failure.
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Relay unlink failures now expose their reason and trace ID, with expandable diagnostic details and refreshed connection state. The underlying unlink operations and access controls remain unchanged, limiting the change’s risk to failure reporting.

Walkthrough
Relay unlink failures now preserve available error details and propagate as cloud unlink errors. After an unlink failure, the controller refreshes cloud link state and relay discovery. Error notifications show expandable details and can include a trace-ID copy action.
Managed relay failure messages include relay details when available. Transport failures retain the network-blocking hint. Tests cover relay errors, an undeclared HTTP status, and a transport failure.
Web unlink error propagation apps/web/src/cloud/linkEnvironment.ts, apps/web/src/cloud/linkEnvironment.test.ts
Relay unlink failures become CloudEnvironmentLinkError instances instead of being logged and swallowed. Tests check relay error details, trace IDs, transport failures, and timeout behavior.
Failure refresh and error notifications apps/web/src/cloud/useCloudLinkController.ts, apps/web/src/cloud/useCloudLinkController.browser.test.tsx, apps/web/src/components/clerk/T3ConnectUserProfilePage.tsx
After unlink fails, reconciliation refreshes cloud link state and relay discovery. Failure notifications show expandable error details and can include a trace-ID copy action.

FAIL: The description includes a clear problem statement, change summary, affected surfaces, test runs, CI results, and candid limits. It does not follow the repository template. It omits the required Scope and approval section, explicit reproduction steps, expected behavior, the rationale for grouping the shared client, web, and Clerk changes, and the agent-model attribution line. Desktop and mobile behavior remain unverified.
Resolution
Add the required Scope and approval section. Link triaged bug issue #25179 and the maintainer approval comment for this direction. If no approval exists, explain why this focused fix qualifies without approval. Rename or restructure the sections as Problem, Change, Scope and approval, and Verification. In Problem, state the expected behavior and include reproduction steps and the test environment. In Change, explain why managedRelay, the web controller and Settings, and the Clerk profile page changes belong to one fix. In Verification, list the focused test commands and observed results. Retain the note that desktop and mobile flows were not verified. Add the model and harness attribution if an agent produced the work.

Preserve the relay transport hint when wrapping unlink failures.
After local unlink succeeds, a relay transport failure reaches decodedRelayClientError. relayRequestFailureDetail returns no detail for transport failures, so the wrapper uses only the generic message and drops ManagedRelayRequestFailedError.message, including NETWORK_BLOCKING_HINT.

ManagedRelayRequestFailedError.message dropped the decoded relay error, so a
failed unlink only said "Could not unlink relay environment." It now appends
relayRequestFailureDetail (relay reason, or the unexpected HTTP status). The
transport hint and the separate traceId/status fields are unchanged.
The desktop/web unlink logged and swallowed a failed relay DELETE after the
local unlink, so the environment stayed registered with no error shown. It now
fails through decodedRelayClientError with the reason and trace ID.
