Every string the window shows now goes through the bundle's
Localizable.strings: SwiftUI literals as before, and the English text that
comes from Tweaks, Catalog, Storage, presets and help through L() or
String(localized:). Counts use Localizable.stringsdict, so Russian gets its
plural forms, and sentences that were glued together from English pieces
("removed"/"installed", "snapshot(s)", "item(s)") are whole sentences now.
tools/build-app.sh copies Localization/*.lproj into the app and lists the
languages in CFBundleLocalizations. English stays the source language: a
missing key, or the bare CLI binary, shows the English text unchanged.
tools/check-localization.py ru lists English UI strings without a
translation and exits 1 if there are any.

- Line 18: Update the key-matching expression used by the re.finditer call in
the localization checker to allow optional whitespace before the opening quote,
while preserving the existing quoted-key and assignment matching behavior.
- Line 64: Update the NOT_UI regular expression so the placeholder exclusion
matches only strings consisting entirely of a supported placeholder, not strings
with additional text such as “%@ is ready”. Preserve filtering for other non-UI
patterns while ensuring sentences beginning with %@ or %d are still reported as
missing translations.

…art with a placeholder
Add a Russian translation of the app
This adds a complete Russian translation of the RemoveMacAI window. English stays the source language and nothing changes for English users. The CLI output also stays as it is.
What it adds
Localization/ru.lproj/Localizable.strings: 410 entries. Keys are the English strings exactly as they appear in the code.Localization/ru.lproj/Localizable.stringsdict: 7 entries with Russian plural forms (one / few / many / other). For example "1 настройка", "2 настройки", "5 настроек", "21 настройка".Sources/removemacai/App/L10n.swift, a small helper:L(_:)looks up a fixed English string inBundle.mainand returns the English when there is no entry.UISize.of(_:)isTerm.sizewith the unit translated ("ГБ") and the region's decimal separator.localizedMessage(_:)translates the one engine caveat that is built from parts (the GarageBand sound-library note).tools/build-app.shcopiesLocalization/*.lprojintoContents/Resources. It also writesCFBundleLocalizationsfrom the folders it finds, which isenplus each<language>.lproj.tools/check-localization.py <language>lists window text that has no translation and exits 1 if there is any. It turns interpolations into%lld/%@the way SwiftUI andString(localized:)build keys.CONTRIBUTING.md.How strings are looked up
SwiftUI literals (
Text("…"),Button("…"),Section("…"),.help("…")and so on) were alreadyLocalizedStringKeys and need no change.Text that reached the window as a
Stringwas always shown verbatim. This covers tweak titles, details and caveats, group titles and summaries, presets, Apple Intelligence features and blurbs, model sets, storage items, help popovers, promises and step cards. It now goes throughL()at the place it is displayed, or throughString(localized:)where the text is built with interpolation.Tweaks.swift,Catalog.swiftandStorage.swiftis unchanged, so the CLI, the journal andstatusoutput are unaffected.A few helpers now take
LocalizedStringKeyinstead ofString, so their literal call sites are localized like any other SwiftUI text:Footer, chip, step, stepRow,stepCard,SafetyCard.checkandStatTile's title and link.Sentences that were glued together from English pieces are now whole sentences, so they can be translated:
The English text is identical.
The background-item warning is rebuilt in the view from
item.owner, under the same condition asitem.warning.The two administrator password prompts use
String(localized:).Fallback
removemacaibinary has no.lprojnext to it, so the CLI is English as before.-AppleLanguages '(en)').What stays English on purpose
Adding another language
Localization/ru.lprojtoLocalization/<language>.lprojand translate the values.tools/check-localization.py <language>until it reports 0.tools/build-app.shpicks the folder up and adds it toCFBundleLocalizationsautomatically.Testing

Plural forms are correct, and no text is truncated except long setting names wrapping as English ones do.-AppleLanguages '(en)': unchanged.Note: on this machine
swift buildfails because of a broken Command Line Tools install (the package manifest won't link, and a staleusr/include/swift/module.modulemapclashes with the SDK). So I compiled the same sources withswiftcdirectly and rantools/build-app.shagainst that binary. CI onmacos-26should build it the normal way. This is one change: the translation and what it needs in order to show up. A CI step that runs
