Follow-up to #326. Production moved to the chart in oldsj/infrastructure#278. Argo now renders oci://ghcr.io/oldsj/charts/mainloop 0.1.*, it is synced and healthy on chart 0.1.194, and it took over the existing objects without recreating any.

Removed

  • k8s/apps/mainloop, which nothing renders any more:
    • the base;
    • overlays/prod;
    • its devloop RBAC, which now lives in infrastructure's k8s/config/mainloop-dev.
  • The release job in images.yml. The chart job replaces it.
  • The .gitignore entry for overlay personal patches.

Docs

  • docs/production-rollout.md now describes what the chart renders, the site contract and the publishing flow. Rollback is now pinning the previous chart version.
  • README, .github/README.md, AGENTS, ROADMAP and the devloop spec no longer point at the overlay or the release branch.

Not changed

  • The push gate still refuses pushes to a branch named release (pushgate/authority.go deployBranch). Nothing deploys from that branch any more, so that rule is now redundant, but it does no harm.
  • The release branch and the release-* tags still exist on GitHub. Delete them whenever you like.
  • The frontend image still bakes in VITE_API_URL=https://mainloop-api.olds.network.

Verification

  • go test ./internal/deploytest/ passes.
  • trunk check is clean.
  • The pushgate package doesn't build on macOS (unix.TMPFS_MAGIC is Linux-only), which is unrelated to this change; CI runs it on Linux.

…se branch go

Production now deploys from the published chart (oci://ghcr.io/oldsj/charts/mainloop), so
k8s/apps/mainloop (the base, the prod overlay and its devloop RBAC, which the deployment
now owns) and the release job that pinned digests into that overlay have no users. The
deploy docs describe the chart flow; rollback is pinning a previous chart version.
