React Native Version Support – Notable Findings

While most dependency bumps in this update are routine patch/minor releases, a few changes are directly tied to supporting newer React Native versions (relevant since this PR adds the 0.88 profile):

• react-native-test-app (^5.4.8 → 5.4.12)
  Explicit RN 0.88 compatibility fix: fix: support setup-env.js introduced in 0.88 (#2937) — updates the test harness to handle the new setup-env.js file introduced in React Native 0.88.

• react-native-safe-area-context (^5.8.0 → 5.10.1)

  • feat: add Swift Package Manager manifest (#768) — adds a Package.swift so apps on React Native ≥ 0.87 using SwiftPM autolinking can consume the library natively instead of via patch-package.
  • feat: Adopt AGP v9 (#733) — Android Gradle Plugin v9 support, relevant to newer RN Android toolchains.
  • fix: Move jest/mock into package build (fix TS under RN 0.87) (#745) — fixes TypeScript issues specifically under RN 0.87.

• react-native-screens (^4.27.0 → 4.28.0)

  • chore(FabricExample): bump libs to versions that support RN 0.87 (#4658) and chore(TVOSExample): bump RN to 0.87.1 (#4657) — confirm and validate compatibility with React Native 0.87, alongside coordinated bumps of react-native-gesture-handler (3.3.0), react-native-reanimated (4.6.0), and react-native-safe-area-context (5.9.1).

• react-native-gesture-handler (^3.1.0 → 3.3.0)
  Included in the same coordinated RN 0.87 compatibility bump referenced above (shared example-app updates with react-native-screens).

No other packages in this table (reanimated, react-navigation, async-storage, webview, datetimepicker, etc.) showed changes explicitly tied to new React Native version support beyond routine feature/bug-fix releases.
