Feature request: Multiple edit cursors #277

Title says it all really. Would love to see this feature added so we can perform multi-line editing like that available in Sublime and Atom.

    I second this, ctrl+click multiple cursor support would be amazing.

    CTRL+D to create multiple cursors from a selection too :)

    at least for gedit there is a plugin shipped in this package:
    gedit-plugin-multi-edit
    Source of that

    here is another one i didnt test

    Maybe that helps for developing a own plugin or maybe port them to xed.

    Check out cudatext, this is what I'm using mostly these days.

    Multi-line editing is definitely a time saver, such as when working with tab-delimited data files. I use xed for almost every task and switching to other editors is also a waste of time. I hope to see this feature in xed in future :)

    Two years. Almost three years. Alas. I presume it wasn't added because the supplied PR presented a ... subpar user experience. We don't want that either. But. It's annoying that I have to switch to vim just to perform this function and then switch back. So ... here you go: another vote for this feature.

    This would really help with Comfort when editing my HTML Documents,
    so that i won’t get Hand Pain from repetitive Edits.
