The owner's decision - immutable rule 12. Everything under [Unreleased] becomes the 0.5.0 section, dated 2026-10-20, and its link compares from v0.4.0. Nothing is left under [Unreleased], which is what the release workflow checks. Breaking keeps one entry of three, and that is measured. The published v0.4.0 and this build generated every format 0.4.0 had at its default settings and agreed on all 26. An HTML page with no label does move: at 122 B, and with --clean at 200 B and 4096 B, 0.4.0 wrote an empty title and this build writes Page. The other two entries were about elements=every in html and the newsletter in eml, and neither was in 0.4.0 - html had only structure and eml did not exist - so nobody upgrading has those bytes. Their facts went into the Added entries of those settings. The owner asked for shorter entries, after BeanNetworkTester's changelog, whose entries run about 70 words and stop near 100. The 0.5.0 section had 40 entries averaging 141 words, the longest 499, 23 over a hundred. The 23 are rewritten to what is new, how to use it and the one limit a reader has to know, the measurement behind them being in the description of each setting already. Now 40 entries, 74 words on average, 100 at most. Older sections stay as they were published. TestEveryChangelogEntryFitsInAHundredWords holds that ceiling for 0.5.0 on and for Unreleased, counting an indented second paragraph with the first, and fails when it finds no 0.5.0 entry to hold. Two mutation entries make an entry too long on a line of its own and in a second paragraph. The number has the same copies as last time. Both resource scripts were raised and recompiled with windres, each .syso differing from the old one in four bytes. The About screen was rewritten by the guard's writer, one screen. The site was rewritten by its writer: 331 pages, 419 lines out and 419 in, each carrying the version and nothing else. The README's manifest example says 0.5.0. Two mutation entries that name the version and the Unreleased link follow it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The owner's decision to release 0.5.0. Everything under [Unreleased] becomes the 0.5.0 section, dated 2026-10-20.
Breaking, measured against the published v0.4.0. At default settings, the two builds wrote the same bytes for all 26 formats that 0.4.0 had. The one change that remains is the HTML page with no label: at 122 B, and with
--cleanat 200 B and 4096 B, 0.4.0 wrote an empty title and this build writesPage. Two other Breaking entries came out:elements=everyin html did not exist in 0.4.0, which offered onlystructure.emlformat, newsletter included, did not exist in 0.4.0.Nobody upgrading has bytes from either, so their facts moved into the Added entries.
Shorter entries. The 0.5.0 section had 40 entries averaging 141 words. The longest had 499, and 23 were over 100. Those 23 now say what is new, how to use it and the one limit a reader has to know. The details are already in each setting's description. The section now averages 74 words and no entry exceeds 100. Older sections stay as they were published.
TestEveryChangelogEntryFitsInAHundredWordsholds the ceiling for 0.5.0 onward and for Unreleased. It also counts an indented second paragraph and fails when it finds no 0.5.0 entry to hold. Three hand mutations were all caught, and two of them are now mutation entries.Version copies, the same set as last time:
.rcfiles, recompiled with windres. Each.sysodiffers by 4 bytes.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
