Commit reports accept text but cannot include screenshots as evidence. Add optional image attachments to the Report commit dialog and show them in the private reports queue.
Reuse the image picker, paste, drag and drop, previews, descriptions, and existing validation: up to three JPEG, PNG, or WebP images, 10 MB each.
Re-encode images as WebP, remove source metadata, encrypt both files and attachment metadata, and serve them only to the reporter and moderators. Other users, including the reported author, cannot retrieve them.
Keep duplicate reports from creating extra uploads. Include submitted evidence references in the reporter's personal export, and delete files when the reporter or the reported author/account thread is deleted.
Keep dialog actions reachable when image descriptions expand. Document the user-facing reporting and export behavior.
The single migration adds nullable encrypted attachment metadata to commit_reports. It is required to associate stored images with the report. The reporter and moderators can access attachments; storage paths are hidden from serialization. Account deletion removes the corresponding files and records. Existing retention of reports after a commit is soft-deleted is preserved. No seed data, temporary preview setup, credentials, generated route files, workflow edits, or screenshots are included in the implementation diff. /bug attachment changes are fully reverted.
Combined command blocked by the container's older Node rejecting --experimental-strip-types. bun run test:lint passes on the host, with existing warnings.
composer test:types
Three pre-existing PHPStan errors in unchanged base files: EmbedKnowledgeBaseCommand.php:20,22 and StressSeeder.php:127. Changed PHP files pass static analysis. Host bun run test:types passes.
No vulnerability advisories; existing abandoned development package symplify/rule-doc-generator-contracts reported.
Diff checks
No added-line secret-pattern matches; clean working tree; only the feature migration is added.
These are local results, not a claim that hosted CI has run or will pass. CI targets production; the title follows the scope-free Conventional Commits rule. No workflow permissions, triggers, or dependency lockfiles change.
Visual evidence
Screenshots are hosted on a separate evidence-only fork branch and pinned to its immutable revision; they do not enter the implementation diff. Baseline screenshots use component source from the exact base revision with comparable synthetic local content.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Commit reports can include up to three JPEG, PNG, or WebP images, up to 10 MB each, added by file picker, paste, or drag-and-drop. Images can include descriptions and are visible only to the reporter and moderators.
Moderators can view report attachments in the reports queue.
User data exports include reports filed by that user, with reasons, details, and attachment references. Reports filed by others are excluded.
Bug Fixes
Report attachments are removed when the reporter or a related commit owner’s account is deleted.
@xHeaven well I think it makes sense, if someone post anything abuse, e.t.c (bad people are everywhere)
and for the first that commit is deleted by admins with the warning. but that person post stuff like that again and someone has screenshots of previous commits so it will be useful.
Plus it'll be useful in more cases such as if someone post a false news, to prove the news false, we can attach screenshots from credible sources along with the links, so it makes sense to have it!
Commit reports now support up to three image attachments with optional descriptions. Authorized viewers can retrieve attachments, and moderators can view them in the report queue. Account exports include the reporter’s reports. User deletion removes associated report image files.

The report form accepts up to three validated images with optional descriptions. Newly created reports store encrypted image files and expose attachment metadata. The form supports selecting, pasting, and dropping images, and cleans up preview URLs.
Authorize and display attachments app/Http/Requests/ShowCommitReportImageRequest.php, app/Http/Controllers/CommitReportImageController.php, app/Queries/ReportedCommitsQuery.php, routes/web.php, resources/js/pages/moderation/reports.tsx, tests/Feature/Controllers/CommitReportControllerTest.php
The image route checks access and image availability before returning decrypted image data. The moderation queue displays report attachments.
Include reports in account exports app/Actions/CreateExport.php, tests/Feature/Controllers/ExportControllerTest.php, KNOWLEDGE_BASE.md
Account exports include reports filed by that account, with details and attachment references. Reports filed by others remain excluded.
Remove report files during user deletion app/Actions/DeleteUser.php, tests/Unit/Actions/DeleteUserTest.php
User deletion collects and removes report image files associated with the user as reporter or as author of a reported commit or reply.

Account deletion can leave a report attachment in storage, and an image added during submission can disappear without being sent. Resolve these behaviors before merging unless their risks are explicitly accepted.
Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to a75da
Image access and exports remain appropriately restricted. However, concurrent uploads or failures during account deletion can leave encrypted evidence retained after its report records are removed, without a durable cleanup reference.
Retained concerns
Medium · security · inferred: Private report evidence can outlive account or thread deletion without a normal recovery reference. DeleteUser snapshots attachment paths before locking affected commits; a report committed after that snapshot but before cascade deletion can lose its database row without its file entering the cleanup list. Independently, interruption or storage-delete failure after database commit can leave files behind because paths are held only in memory and the delete result is unchecked. The mechanism is inherited from existing attachment cleanup, but the PR newly exposes report evidence to it. Remaining files are encrypted, and removal of the report prevents access through the normal image route.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — Ordinary image access is bounded to the owning reporter and administrators. The deletion concern affects evidence associated with the deleting account or its removed content. Orphaned ciphertext is not made readable by possessing a report URL or an unrelated session; reading it outside the application would require access to stored objects and suitable application key material.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — A report created between deletion's path snapshot and the later parent deletion can have its row cascaded away while its image remains outside the collected cleanup set. A storage failure or process interruption after database commit can reach the same retention outcome. These paths support the erasure-consistency concern; they do not establish an unauthorized image-read path.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The new image GET route is inside the existing authenticated web group. Request authorization permits only an administrator or the report's reporter, also checks the selected image and stored object, and denies other callers as not found. The controller decrypts the file only after this authorization boundary.
observed — Export ownership is enforced by reporter_id, not by ownership of the reported commit. Exported attachment URLs are authorization-protected references rather than bearer grants, so including a report in the reporter's export does not grant its reported author access.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
inferred — Creation has compensating rollback cleanup, and uniqueness plus newly-created-report gating prevents repeated submissions from generating additional stored images for an existing report. These controls do not provide crash-atomic storage or recoverable post-commit erasure. Once report ownership records are deleted, repeating account deletion cannot rediscover their former attachment paths through those records.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Coordinate report creation with account/content deletion before collecting paths, and persist pending file erasure transactionally before removing ownership records. Idempotent retries and reconciliation could then recover from storage failure or interruption. Validate the design with concurrent creation/deletion and failed-delete scenarios, including application rollback after attachments already exist.

If a user drops an image while form.processing is true, the form-level drop handler still adds it to attachment state. The in-flight submission does not include that image, and onSuccess clears it. Keep preventing the browser’s default file-drop action, but do not attach files while the report is sending. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Collect report paths after locking their owners and commits.
A report can finish creation after reportImagePaths() runs but before deletion locks the reported commit. The deletion then removes the report without collecting its new attachment path, leaving the encrypted file orphaned. CreateCommitReport writes the file before its transaction commits. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Serialize report creation with account deletion, and collect paths after acquiring the relevant reporter and commit locks.
