Hackathon prototype for authorized, public-source social media intelligence and explainable digital identity correlation.
socmint/ Next.js 16 frontend
backend/ Express API gateway and case orchestration
ml-backend/ FastAPI correlation and analytics service
The application requires all three services running with valid database connections.
Add .env files from each service's .env.example when connecting databases,
model providers, and lawful public-data sources.
Start each service in its own terminal.
cd ml-backend
python -m venv .venv
pip install -r requirements.txt
uvicorn app.main:app --reload --port 8000cd backend
npm install
npm run devcd socmint
npm install
npm run devOpen http://localhost:3000.
The frontend sends identifiers to Express. Express validates requests, owns case and audit metadata, and delegates analysis to FastAPI. If FastAPI is not running, Express returns a 503 error — no fabricated intelligence is ever returned.
All intelligence displayed in the dashboard is sourced from real database queries (MongoDB and Neo4j). There are no hardcoded fixtures, demo fallbacks, or synthetic data generators in the response path.
This project is designed only for authorized investigations using publicly available information. Correlation scores are analytical estimates and must not be treated as proof of identity.
