Coding-CLI session fixes: sandboxed Codex under worktree isolation, OpenCode 2.x faults, forms and subagent tokens, and Antigravity subagent Stops and idle activity.
Why
Under isolation = "worktree" a sandboxed Codex session could not commit (DW-599). OpenCode 2.x outages were charged as code failures (DW-541), its forms never reached the transcript (DW-542), and its subagent tokens were missed (DW-540). An Antigravity subagent's yield or final Stop completed the parent early, and a parent waiting on a subagent read as idle (DW-548).
How
DW-599: the sandboxed Codex mode declares linked_worktree_args. It is a child permission profile bmad_loop_worktree that extends bmad_loop with write grants for the linked gitdir and the common dir. The generic adapter appends it when the cwd is a linked worktree. A git or path fault raises before the window exists. validate is ok when the grant rides. The commit body holds the zero-token probe record (codex-cli 0.165.0).
DW-541: the V2 env-fault alternation adds internal|auth|no-route, seeded only from lines captured live against opencode 2.0.32.
DW-542:form.* frames render as form ask / form reply / form cancelled. form.created's nested session id is read.
DW-548 (Antigravity): a Stop with fullyIdle: false is a yield and is ignored. A child conversation's Stop is dropped using the new subagent_spawn_marker profile key. Writes in a child conversation count as the parent's idle activity.
DW-540: OpenCode 2.x usage and budget samples add every descendant session's tokens. A failed child walk is a children usage fault, and a child still running at capture is journaled.

…essions (DW-599)
Under scm.isolation = "worktree" + adapter.permission_mode = "sandboxed", a
Codex session could not git add/commit: the linked worktree's gitdir
(<main>/.git/worktrees/<name>) and the common dir (<main>/.git) are read-only
to the sandbox. The sandboxed mode now declares `linked_worktree_args`, which
the generic adapter appends after the mode args, with both exact paths filled
in, when the session's cwd is a linked worktree.
Probe record (codex-cli 0.165.0, Linux; scratch repos: main repo + one
commit, `git worktree add ../wt`). Repos first under /tmp, then moved to
~/.cache/dw599-probe: /tmp is writable under `:workspace`, which made the
common dir writable and masked (b). Zero-token matrix via
`codex sandbox -P bmad_loop -c 'permissions.bmad_loop.extends=":workspace"'
<filesystem -c ...> -C <dir> -- sh -c 'git add a.txt && git commit -qm a'`:
- (c) baseline, shipped table only, in wt: FAIL
"Unable to create .../.git/worktrees/wt/index.lock: Read-only file system"
- dotted per-key `-c 'permissions.bmad_loop.filesystem."/abs/.git/..."="write"'`:
REFUSED at config load ("filesystem path ... must be absolute"); Codex splits
-c keys on every `.`, quotes included, so no path holding `.git` can be a key
- (b) 2nd `filesystem={<gitdir>="write"}` only: FAIL ("unable to index file",
objects in the common dir); common dir only: FAIL (gitdir index.lock);
both: COMMITTED
- (a) main checkout, shipped table then a 2nd `filesystem={...}` table: FAIL
(main .git/index.lock read-only) => a second table REPLACES the first
- child profile: `-c permissions.bmad_loop_worktree.extends="bmad_loop"
-c permissions.bmad_loop_worktree.filesystem={<gitdir>="write",<common>="write"}`
run with -P bmad_loop_worktree: COMMITTED in wt and in main => extends
MERGES the parent's filesystem map (the :workspace_roots .git grant kept)
- the adapter's actual rendered tokens, re-run through `codex sandbox`: COMMITTED
Real runs (`codex --no-daemon <shipped sandboxed args> [grant] exec
--ephemeral "echo hi > b.txt && git add b.txt && git commit -m probe-b"`):
- with the grant (a later -c default_permissions="bmad_loop_worktree" after
the shipped default_permissions="bmad_loop"): COMMITTED (8,242 tokens), so
the last -c wins
- without it: FAIL, wt/index.lock Read-only file system (7,446 tokens)
DW-599 decisions:
- Override shape: a child permission profile `bmad_loop_worktree` that
extends `bmad_loop` with exact-path write grants for the gitdir and common
dir, selected by a trailing `-c default_permissions=...`. It does not restate
the shipped table (a second table on bmad_loop would replace it), and dotted
per-path keys are impossible. Each path is rendered as a TOML basic string
(quote/backslash/control escaped; a lone-surrogate path raises).
- Mode-detection seam: declarative. `[permission_modes.<mode>]` gains an
optional `linked_worktree_args` list ({gitdir}/{common_dir} placeholders,
validated: non-empty strings, at least one placeholder, on both the TOML and
provider routes), and `for_permission_mode` copies it onto a new appended
`CLIProfile.linked_worktree_args` beside `bypass_args`. Bypass and every
profile that declares none (all non-Codex) carry (); the adapter never names
a mode or a CLI. `config_digest` hashes the template only when non-empty,
so every other digest stays byte-identical.
- extra_args: the grant rides with the inherited mode args, so a policy
`extra_args` override (which replaces them) drops the grant too, as it
must: the grant extends the `bmad_loop` profile those args define.
- Fault behaviour: raise. Git is asked (one `rev-parse --path-format=absolute
--git-dir --git-common-dir` through verify.git_bytes) only when the mode
declares a grant and extra_args is unset. A GitError, a non-zero rc, an
undecodable or malformed answer, a resolve fault or an unrenderable path
raises LinkedWorktreeGrantError out of interactive_argv. In start_session
that is before the window exists, and the engine records a resumable
run-crash (crash.txt + journal). Launching without the grant was rejected:
that session cannot commit and would fail its unit only after spending its
turn.
- The validate warning (`_report_permission_mode`) is left for the follow-up.
…e gitdir grant rides (DW-599)
`_report_permission_mode` warned on every Codex-family role sandboxed under
scm.isolation=worktree. Since the sandboxed mode's `linked_worktree_args`
grant the linked worktree's gitdir and the common dir, that role is now ok,
with a message naming the grant. It stays a warning when the grant cannot
ride: the resolved profile's mode declares no `linked_worktree_args` (a user
overlay, say), or a non-None `extra_args` (an empty one included) replaces
the mode's args and the grant with them, as `interactive_argv` does. Check
id and detail dict unchanged.
Docs: FEATURES, the cli.md check row, the adapter-authoring guide's
`linked_worktree_args` key (placeholders, validation, when it is appended,
fault refusal, unfilled-template digest) and the common-dir exposure note;
core.toml's `extra_args` description (configuration.md regenerated) says it
drops the grant; the config_digest docstring now says the template is hashed
unfilled.

Not seeded: invalid-request and invalid-output (the session's own request
can cause them); provider.timeout was not provoked (the 2.0.32 binary raises
its Timeout reason only from media-generation polling; chat timeouts read
provider.transport), nor content-filter, unsupported-operation, unknown,
error. The server log's "Failed to drain Session" ERROR line appeared for
every failed execution (auth, internal, invalid-request, invalid-output,
no-route) with only `cause="AI.Error: <provider message>"` and a stack, no
error type, so it cannot tell an outage from a refusal: not seeded.
Tests: the captured lines join OPENCODE_REAL with their frames (provenance
test rebuilds them via format_provider_error); captured invalid-request /
invalid-output lines must match no opencode field; the bait's auth/no-route
lines move to still-unseeded types. Ablation: reverting the alternation
reddens 16 tests; widening it to invalid-request|invalid-output reddens 4.
A 2.x form parks the turn until it is answered, but no form.* frame was
rendered, and form.created never reached either sink: it is the one V2
frame with no top-level sessionID (the session id is nested in
data.form), so the session filter dropped it. V2Protocol.frame_payload
now reads that nested id for form.created only, and render_line writes
`form ask: <title> [<field title>: <question>, ...]` (options omitted),
`form reply: <answer>` and `form cancelled`. Other form.* types render
nothing. The question deny is unchanged; the adapter never replies.
Probe (opencode v2.0.32, 2026-10-28, zero tokens): the DW-541 mock-
provider harness through OpencodeHttpAdapter with a scrubbed HOME/XDG,
the question deny filtered out of V2Protocol.config_content in the probe
only, _dispatch_sse wrapped to log every raw frame, and the mock's first
turn a tool call:

…DW-548)
agy 1.4.9 fires Stop with `fullyIdle: false` when a parent yields to a
foreground subagent, then `fullyIdle: true` when it really finishes; a
child's background-command yield also sends false. `fullyIdle` is the only
field that tells them apart. The relay dropped it, so the generic wait loop
read the yield as a turn end and completed the session while the subagent
was still working.
Both relay copies (the vendored hook and events.py, twinned via the new
`_fully_idle` helper and pinned by the parity test) now forward it as
`fully_idle`, only when it is a JSON boolean; otherwise the key is absent,
so every other CLI's event is byte-identical. HookEvent gains `fully_idle`
(bool only). The wait loop treats an admitted Stop with `fully_idle is
False` as a yield: it still feeds session-id/transcript tracking, but never
reaches the turn-end block (no stop_seen, no parked-latch drop, no
completion). It is journaled once per attempt (`hook-stop-yield-ignored`),
and the running count rides heartbeat.json and timeout-fired
(`stop_yields_ignored`).
The filter is deliberately NOT profile-gated: the key exists only when a
CLI sends it, so gating would add a knob without changing any behavior.
Known gap, out of scope here: a child conversation's final
`fullyIdle: true` Stop still completes the parent early.
agy 1.4.9 runs a subagent as its own conversation, a sibling folder
brain/<childId>/ beside the parent's. Its Stops fire through the same
workspace hooks and env, so they land in the parent session's events with
the child's conversationId and a transcript under brain/<childId>/; agy
fires no SessionStart, so attribution admits them. The yield filter drops
the child's `fullyIdle: false` Stops, but its final `fullyIdle: true` Stop
(sent after it hands its result back, while the parent still works) read as
the parent's turn end and completed the session early.
At spawn agy writes brain/<parentId>/.system_generated/subagents/<childId>.json.
A new profile key, `subagent_spawn_marker` (appended to CLIProfile; validated
like subagent_transcript_dir: exactly `{session_id}`, relative, no `..`, no
NUL, refused on hookless profiles), names that file, and antigravity.toml
sets it. In the wait loop, after attribution and before identity/transcript
tracking, a Stop whose transcript's ancestor folder is named by its id is a
child's when any sibling folder holds the marker: dropped, journaled once
per child (`subagent-stop-ignored`). The lookup is `_spawn_marker_verdict`,
stat-only. A Stop it cannot judge (no id, no transcript path, no folder named
by the id) or a store read fault is admitted as before and journaled once
(`subagent-marker-unjudged` / `subagent-marker-unreadable`), never read as
"not a child". A profile without the key is unchanged.
… activity (DW-548)
While a foreground subagent runs, agy 1.4.9 writes nothing to the parent's
conversation folder (brain/<parentId>/), only to the child's sibling folder
brain/<childId>/, so a parent blocked on a long subagent journaled a false
`session-idle`. The #858 subagent fold could not express it: the child is a
sibling, not a tree beside the transcript.
The parent's own folder lists its children through the spawn marker agy writes
at each spawn (`subagent_spawn_marker`, `{session_id}` read as the wildcard).
`_sample_subagent_tree` now sums `_subagent_tree_key` over the declared tree
plus every listed child folder (`_spawned_children`, stat-only, same `*.jsonl`
rule), with the parent's folder found by the ancestor rule the Stop filter
uses (`_conversation_folder`, threaded the session id). An unjudgeable folder
watches no children that tick; a listing fault joins the
`subagent-scan-failed` / `-recovered` streak and degrades the tick to
parent-only. A child appearing mid-run reads as movement and closes the
stretch; a flip in whether children are watched rebaselines the key.
…samples (DW-540)
An opencode 2.x session's Session.Info.tokens counts only its own steps, so a
turn that ran the `subagent` tool under-counted recorded usage, and the budget
guard read all zeros on a parent blocked on a foreground child that was already
spending.
V2Protocol.descendants walks the session tree: there is no children route, so
it lists `GET /api/session?parentID=<id>` (direct children only) breadth-first
and recurses, since nesting is configurable. Each listing is paged like the
message history (`limit=200`, then `cursor` + `limit`; the cursor carries the
parentID, pinned on 2.0.32). An entry naming another parent and an id already
seen are skipped, so a filter-ignoring server or a cycle cannot double-count.
`_V2_MAX_PAGES` bounds the pages in total. Listed Session.Info bodies already
carry `tokens`, so no per-child GET is made. usage() and sample_usage() add
every descendant's aggregate (`_info_tokens`) to the parent's. The untracked
rule (a zero total with no completed assistant message) applies to the sum. A
failed or malformed page, an id-less child or a child's malformed aggregate is
a new UsageFault stage `children` (sample: the fault string), never a
parent-only figure.
Still-running children at capture are counted as far as they have landed
(human decision: count + journal). The seam is a separate protocol method,
`active_descendants(client, session_id) -> (ids | None, fault)`, rather than
widening usage()'s `(usage, fault)` contract. The base class answers `[]`, so
V1 (still parent-only) has nothing to report. It reads `/api/session/active`
and walks the tree only when a session other than the parent is listed.
`_capture_usage` calls it once usage read without a fault and journals
`usage-child-active` (`sessions`) or `usage-child-active-failed` (`error`); an
unreadable active map is never folded into "none active".
Live check (zero tokens, fake provider, opencode 2.0.32): the subagent,
background and grandchild probes now capture parent + child (+ grandchild),
equal to the per-session list totals; previously the parent alone.

Profile validation accepts a linked_worktree_args grant naming either
placeholder, since other CLIs may need less, but Codex commits in a linked
worktree only with both the gitdir and the common dir writable (DW-599 probe:
either grant alone fails). `validate` reported such a partial grant ok; it now
warns, naming the missing placeholder and the path left read-only.

Part 3 of 8 of the deferred-work ledger stack.
What
Coding-CLI session fixes: sandboxed Codex under worktree isolation, OpenCode 2.x faults, forms and subagent tokens, and Antigravity subagent Stops and idle activity.
Why
Under
isolation = "worktree"a sandboxed Codex session could not commit (DW-599). OpenCode 2.x outages were charged as code failures (DW-541), its forms never reached the transcript (DW-542), and its subagent tokens were missed (DW-540). An Antigravity subagent's yield or final Stop completed the parent early, and a parent waiting on a subagent read as idle (DW-548).How
linked_worktree_args. It is a child permission profilebmad_loop_worktreethat extendsbmad_loopwith write grants for the linked gitdir and the common dir. The generic adapter appends it when the cwd is a linked worktree. A git or path fault raises before the window exists.validateis ok when the grant rides. The commit body holds the zero-token probe record (codex-cli 0.165.0).internal|auth|no-route, seeded only from lines captured live against opencode 2.0.32.form.*frames render asform ask/form reply/form cancelled.form.created's nested session id is read.fullyIdle: falseis a yield and is ignored. A child conversation's Stop is dropped using the newsubagent_spawn_markerprofile key. Writes in a child conversation count as the parent's idle activity.childrenusage fault, and a child still running at capture is journaled.Testing
