GreasePress is a desktop-publishing add-on for Blender. It organizes an editorial project as pages and provides tools for page layout, linked and multi-page text, reusable typography, master-page content, print imposition, document checks, and imposed PDF export.
- Create A4, A5, or custom-format documents in portrait or landscape orientation.
- Manage pages as ordered Blender collections: add, duplicate, rename, reorder, navigate, and delete them.
- Add Grease Pencil objects, text, page backgrounds, and imported images to the active page.
- Control page-object stacking and move existing objects into the current page.
- Build linked text boxes and distribute a long story across frames on multiple pages.
- Create, duplicate, reorder, capture, and apply reusable text styles.
- Add headers, footers, page numbers, and arbitrary reusable objects through master pages.
- Display configurable page, margin, safe-area, bleed, and center guides.
- Prepare booklet, bi-fold, accordion-fold, and roll-fold impositions.
- Generate printable sheet sides with optional fold and trim marks.
- Run a preflight check before export.
- Export generated sides as a multi-page imposed PDF at 150 or 300 DPI.
- Download or clone this repository.
- In Blender, open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
- Choose Install from Disk and select the add-on ZIP, or copy the repository folder into Blender's add-ons directory.
- Enable GreasePress.
- Open a 3D Viewport and find the GreasePress tab in the sidebar.
Create a document, set its format and guides, add or import page contents, build text flows and styles, configure master-page elements, choose an imposition mode, generate sides, run Check Document, and export the imposed PDF.
A guided example is available in Tutorial.md. Full feature documentation is maintained in the GitHub Wiki.
GreasePress works inside Blender and uses Blender objects, collections, text data-blocks, cameras, rendering, and materials. Generated imposed sides are temporary working collections and can be deleted and rebuilt whenever the source pages change.
