Hi! First of all, thanks for the book, it's a great resource.

This PR adds a full Spanish translation of all 34 chapters (notebooks, .qmd and .md sources) as a self-contained Quarto book project under es/, with its own _quarto.yml (lang: es). The English book is untouched.

What's in the PR

• es/ mirrors the chapter list of the root _quarto.yml one-to-one, with the part titles translated.
• es/data/, es/pyproject.toml, references.bib, logo and favicon are copied so the Spanish project renders on its own (quarto render --execute from es/ builds cleanly, 36 pages).
• Notebooks have no stored outputs, and all pre-commit hooks (large files, nbstripout, ruff, panache) pass on the new files.
• .gitignore gains entries for es/_book/ and es/.quarto/.

Translation approach

• Neutral Spanish, "tú" register, aimed at both Latin America and Spain.
• Code, identifiers, library names, dataset names, bibliography and widely used technical terms (dataframe, pipeline, string, tidy data…) are kept in English, as is customary in the Spanish-speaking data science community.
• Markdown and Quarto syntax (cross-references, callouts, section ids, links) preserved so the structure matches the original.
• Machine-assisted translation (Claude) followed by automated checks on every block (code spans, links, code fences) and manual spot review. I'm happy to keep reviewing it and to maintain it as the English text evolves.

Open questions for you

I went for the smallest possible change to the current setup, but I'm happy to adapt it to whatever fits the project best:

1. Keep es/ here as a separate Quarto project and publish it at /es/ of the site (would need a small addition to the release workflow).
2. Move it to a sibling repository (python4DS-es) linked from the README, the model used by the R for Data Science translations.
3. A multilingual setup with babelquarto.

If you'd rather not host a translation at all, that's fine too; I'd just ask whether you're OK with option 2 under the MIT licence, with clear attribution to this book.

Some suggestions, entirely optional of course:

• Make a fork rather than start a fresh repo so that the translation shares git history.
• Record the latest commit/version of Python4DS that the translation is based on, so people can easily understand any drift over time.
• Set up an action to flag to you when there are upstream changes—or even a bot that auto-translates upstream changes

• A weekly GitHub Action opens an issue whenever upstream chapters change, so I can keep it in sync.
