Update Checker Does Not Resume After Network Connection Is Restored #812

Description

@uNyanda
  • Type: Bug
  • Severity: Low

Environment

  • OS: Linux
  • WM: Niri
  • Compositor: Wayland
  • Software version: 2.51.1

Description

The desktop client's update checker does not automatically resume checking for updates after the network connection is restored following a period of disconnection.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch ZenNotes while network connection is unavailable.
  2. Allow the update checker to attempt a check while the client is offline.
  3. Restore the network connection.
  4. Wait for the update checker to resume checking automatically.

Expected Behaviour

The update checker should automatically resume checking for updates once the network connection has been restored.

Actual Behaviour

The update checker does not resume checking after the network connection is restored. The user has to manually run the Check for Updates command from the Command Palette or navigate to Settings → About and press Check for Updates before the update check works again.

Additional Notes

The issue appears to persist after network connectivity is restored and does not recover automatically without manually triggering Check for Updates.
