Description

PyPI detected version 0.0.1 because it was pinned in the pyproject. There were also issues with python versions.

What kind of change(s) are included?

  • Documentation (changes docs or other related content)

- Switch to dynamic versioning via setuptools-scm (removes hardcoded 0.0.1)
- Set requires-python to >=3.11,<3.15 based on actual dep constraints
- Add license, project URLs, and correct author list
- Remove sphinx theme packages from core dependencies
- Align ruff target-version and test matrix with requires-python
- Fix .readthedocs.yaml to use build.jobs convention (like pycytominer)
- Add permissions: contents: write to publish-docs workflow
- Suppress third-party warnings in notebook before imports

we needed to drop support of python 3.9 and 3.10 to be compatible with pandas3.0 and a more modern sphinx. (3.10 is nearly EOL anyway https://devguide.python.org/versions/)

- Suppress mahotas SyntaxWarnings before imports in notebook and in conf.py
- Suppress matplotlib INFO logs before imports
- Add "Learn more" links to feature reference pages in each feature section
- Replace em dashes with colons in notebook prose
