Clipboard items copied from Bitwarden (concealed pasteboard type) don’t sync to Windows VM #75
Copying text from Bitwarden on macOS using its copy button does not paste into a Windows 11 VM. Clipboard sharing from other macOS apps works normally.
Steps to reproduce
In Bitwarden on macOS, click the copy button on a username or password.
Switch to the Windows 11 VM in VMPal.
Paste (Ctrl+V) into any field, for example Notepad.
Expected: the copied text pastes into Windows.
Actual: nothing pastes, or the previous clipboard contents paste instead.
Workaround
Paste the Bitwarden value into a macOS text editor, copy it again from there, then paste into the VM. This works every time.
Using Pure Paste (plain text clipboard conversion) does not fix it. Pure Paste likely skips password manager items too, which suggests the concealed/transient pasteboard marker is the cause rather than formatting.
Possible cause
Password managers like Bitwarden usually mark copied items as concealed or transient on the macOS pasteboard (org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType / TransientType) so clipboard managers ignore them. VMPal may be skipping these items. If that's intentional for privacy, a per-VM setting to allow concealed clipboard items would be very helpful, since pasting credentials into a VM is a common use case.
