My repo's name has 🐒monkey because:
In 🇺🇸 casinos, when playing Blackjack, people call face cards "monkeys".
Face cards are, very apparently, the happy family: Jack, Queen and King.
However, these face cards all count as 10 just like a 10 in Blackjack. So at the end, monkey is a symbol of 10, J, Q and K.
The more monkeys we have, which side gets more favored? Dealers or players?
Combine Blackjack rules with Bayesian statistics, and you can get it 😃
I've been to Macau casinos several years ago.
Their rules are quite interesting in some parts:
-
For a hand of non-Aces pair, players can split up to 3 times into 4 branches.
As long as the same value card keeps coming and players have enough capital.
-
Double down after split is always allowed for non-Aces pair.
-
When dealer's 1st card isn't Ace, it is allowed to surrender to lose half of the bet.
-
At that time, I saw a flexible surrender policy in Wynn Palace & MGM Cotai:
players can wait until when it's their turn to make moves to decide surrender or not, rather than forced to do surrender before any other players hit their hands.
Don't know if such a policy still exists 🤣
The more interesting these rules are, the harder to implement into an online game.
And this actually gives me motivation and fun for designing this online game 😃
Alright, the above is some fun facts about casino terminology and why I set up this game.
Like I said, if you have any ideas, please feel free to post in this repo's Issues.
Especially if you discover bugs, then I am very willing to know and debug for us 🙏
Which Blackjack rule is the root cause for house edge, despite 🇲🇴 casinos giving so many friendly rules?
