Updates rusty_alloc from 2.2.5 to 2.2.6

Release notes

Sourced from rusty_alloc's releases.

rusty_alloc-api-v2.2.6

Fixed

  • Picks up rusty_alloc 2.2.6: a merged free span no longer hides a decommitted neighbour (Windows, purging on). This crate's code is unchanged.

rusty_alloc-v2.2.6

Fixed

  • A merged free span no longer hides a decommitted neighbour (Windows, purging on). When a freed span merged with an already-purged neighbour and the merged span was not re-purged as a whole (the purge failed, or purging had been switched off at runtime), the merged span kept a clear purged flag over the neighbour's decommitted memory, and the next allocation wrote to it: an access violation, reproduced as STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION. The merged span now keeps the flag if any part of it was purged, so it is re-committed before reuse. Cost: about 2 instructions per span free. Mechanism B of docs/plans/recommit-failure-ignored.md.
Commits
  • 61ae839 chore: release v2.2.6 -- the merged-span purge fix alone, on 2.2.5
  • 967161c fix(segment): a merged free span keeps its neighbour's purged flag

Updates rff-core from 0.2.1 to 0.2.2

Release notes

Sourced from rff-core's releases.

remade_ffmpeg_rs 0.2.2 — current codec engines

The remade_ffmpeg_rs crate family, republished against the current codec engines. The family moves to 0.2.2: every crate in it is API-compatible with its previous release (checked with cargo semver-checks against crates.io), so cargo update picks it up with no manifest change. The HEVC, H.264 and Opus adapters took new minor versions (published earlier today from #25) because their engine requirements moved across 0.x boundaries; depend on those versions directly to take the engine upgrades.

Engine upgrades

Adapter Engine before Engine now
rff-codec-hevc 0.2.0 rusty_h265 0.1 rusty_h265 0.6 — 147/147 JCT-VC HEVC_v1 streams bit-exact, 6183/6183 SEI picture hashes

rff-codec-opus 0.3.0 rusty-opus 0.9 rusty-opus 1.0
rff-codec-flac 0.2.2 rusty_flac 0.1 rusty_flac 0.2
rff-codec-jpeg 0.2.2 rusty_jpeg 0.3 rusty_jpeg 0.4

New

  • HEVC decode in the engine: rusty_h265 behind remade-ffmpeg, wired through MP4, MKV and MPEG-TS.
  • rtp:// input (RFC 6184 H.264, RFC 2435 JPEG) and the rtp, mjpeg and mpjpeg (MJPEG over HTTP) formats — new crates rff-format-rtp and rff-format-mjpeg.
  • H.264 encoder options: -preset, -profile, -g, -b:v, -qp; one packet per frame through the lookahead.

Fixes and performance

  • WAV demux reads the data chunk into its own buffer — no file-sized copy.
  • Decode-to-WAV output path: no trailer copy, one-pass conform.
  • rff-io: the empty host binds every interface, and RTCP on the port is not treated as a stream.
  • rusty_vp9 0.1.2: an opt-in prometheus-telemetry feature (off by default) that records the encoder's coefficient-token entropy bins; output is byte-identical with or without it.

Unchanged

rusty_aac / rff-codec-aac 1.1.0, rusty_mp3 / rff-codec-mp3 1.0.0, rusty_h265 0.6.0, rff-codec-webp / rff-format-webp 0.2.1, rusty_webp and rusty_vorbis 0.1.1 were already current on crates.io and are not republished; they work with this release as-is.

Updates pyo3 from 0.29.2 to 0.29.3

Release notes

Sourced from pyo3's releases.

PyO3 0.29.3

This release is a series of fixes worth landing to the PyO3 0.29 series; the PyO3 0.30 release is planned to follow within a few weeks, however during the development cycle a number of rough edges were discovered which were deemed worth a backport.

The patch broadly includes:

  • a further fix the to the opt-out of raw-dylib linking for Windows introduced in PyO3 0.29.1 (the switch to raw-dylib linking was introduced in PyO3 0.29.0),
  • fixes to support GraalPy on windows,
  • a handful of small performance optimizations,
  • a number of non-breaking fixes to the experimental-inspect type stub generation (expect more improvements in 0.30), and
  • various other bugfixes such as to FFI definitions, to resolve crashes, and to fix clippy lints caused by PyO3 macros.

For a full list of the exact fixes please consult the CHANGELOG.

Thank you to the following contributors for the improvements:

[0.29.3] - 2026-09-30

Packaging

  • Support GraalPy on Windows. #6406

Added

  • Add FFI definitions PyModule_GetState_DuringGC, PyModule_GetToken_DuringGC, PyObject_GetTypeData_DuringGC, PyType_GetModuleState_DuringGC, PyType_GetBaseByToken_DuringGC, PyType_GetModule_DuringGC, and PyType_GetModuleByToken_DuringGC for Python 3.15 and up. #6419

Changed

  • Optimize u128/i128 conversions on Python 3.15+. #6160
  • Preallocate output sets when extracting Python set and frozenset values into Rust hash sets. #6225
  • Optimize PyBytes::as_bytes() when not using abi3 or abi3t. #6377

Removed

  • Remove FFI definitions PyExc_RecursionErrorInst and Py_UseClassExceptionsFlag (not present in supported Python versions). #6421

Fixed

  • Revert removal of FFI definition _PyFrameEvalFunction, _PyInterpreterState_GetEvalFrameFunc and _PyInterpreterState_SetEvalFrameFunc, which are not currently treated as CPython private API despite their name. #6195
  • Fix FFI definition PyUnstable_Eval_RequestCodeExtraIndex FFI binding to link to the private CPython symbol on Python versions before 3.12. #6195
  • Fix FFI definitions PyByteArray_GET_SIZE, PyList_GET_SIZE, and PySet_GET_SIZE to use an atomic load for free-threaded Python. #6230
  • experimental-inspect: deduplicate repeated members of a type union in the generated stubs, and put a space on both sides of the | rather than only before it. #6273
  • experimental-inspect: __next__ and __anext__ returning Option<T> (or PyResult<Option<T>>) are now introspected as returning T, since None stops the iteration instead of being yielded. #6274

  • experimental-inspect: fix the stubs of a package nested inside another package being written into a directory named after its parent instead of its own name. #6365
  • Fix many unresolved symbols when linking for PyPy due to incorrect link names in pyo3-ffi. #6389
