Bring python_by_example up to date with the English (lecture-python-programming#604 and #595) #55

Open

Description

@mmcky

Step 1 of QuantEcon/project-translation#65. python_by_example was drafted from English commit 5816589 (round 1, #1) and still lacks two English changes merged since then. Bring it up to date before its sync state file is written, because that file records the lecture as current.

The English changes

From QuantEcon/lecture-python-programming#604 (aacff38), the while-loop sentences:

  • "…until the condition (i < ts_length) is satisfied" became "…as long as the condition (i < ts_length) is satisfied". This one changes the meaning.
  • "…adding values to the list ϵ_values until i equals ts_length:" now uses single backticks.

From QuantEcon/lecture-python-programming#595 (d35eb83), in Random Draws:

  • "the remaining three lines" became "the remaining four lines";
  • the code cell gains rng = np.random.default_rng();
  • a new sentence: "The first line creates a random number generator rng.";
  • "The first line generates 100 (quasi) independent standard normals…" became "The second line generates…";
  • "The next two lines genererate the plot." became "The last two lines generate the plot."

How

Done when

  • The PR is merged, and nothing in git diff 5816589..origin/main -- lectures/python_by_example.md on the English is missing from the Malayalam.
