Microsoft 365 group rows now have one members button instead of separate view, add and remove buttons. It opens a searchable member list, with Add member above the list and a removal action beside each person.

  • Adding uses the directory picker within the same dialog; removing requires confirmation for the selected member.
  • After a successful change, all loaders refresh before the dialog returns to the updated list and the success toast appears. A failed refresh reports that the change was saved and closes the dialog to avoid repeating it.
  • Empty groups can also be opened to add their first member.
  • Read-only users can view members; management requires azure:groups:write. Adding also requires directory access, and emails only appear when the directory is available.

Validation: pnpm check (0 errors, existing test warnings), pnpm typecheck, pnpm test (42 passed, 3 optional integration tests skipped), and pnpm build. Browser checks with AGENT_MODE=true and a local fixture backend covered desktop/mobile layout, email search, empty groups, addition, removal confirmation, and the refreshed list after each mutation. Microsoft 365 itself was not called.

Each group row gets a "View members" button, visible to read-only roles
too, that opens the membership dialog in a new `view` mode listing every
member with their email (when the directory is readable), searchable.

Walkthrough

The Azure groups page opens a unified membership dialog by group ID. The dialog displays current members, supports searching and adding members when directory data is available, and gates adding and removal on write access. It handles refresh success and failure after membership updates.

Changes

Azure group membership

Layer / File(s) Summary
Membership dialog behavior
src/features/azure/membership-dialog.tsx
The dialog combines member browsing, adding, and removal. It displays member counts and optional group email, and supports searching current members and available directory users. Write access gates membership actions, and adding also requires directory data. After an update, the dialog returns to the member list if refresh succeeds or closes if refresh fails.
Groups page integration
src/features/azure/groups-page.tsx, tests/server-security.test.mjs
Group rows always offer a “View members” action. The page opens the dialog by group ID and passes nullable directory data unchanged. The security test checks the write scope on the membership dialog.

Open a single searchable member list with an add picker and per-member removal confirmation. Keep the dialog open after refreshed mutations and enforce management permissions inside the dialog.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Keep the members button enabled for empty groups.

When group.members.length is zero, this condition prevents users from opening the dialog to add the first member. Remove the condition. The dialog already controls whether adding is available.

Based on the PR objective, empty groups must be openable to add their first member.
