Would you be interested in me upstreaming a change that adds support for the (now) beta DiskImageKit?
As a result, the users would be able create stacked images via VZDiskImageStorageDeviceAttachment as seen here.
I have the PR and I already verified it working. The only problem I have is since the API is Swift only, I needed to make a small swift bridge, so the change is pretty verbose (~1800 additions). Pushing a large PR like that probably goes against your Contribution policy.
