Goal

Publish the fifth Windows alpha with named folders that keep their own tabs and drafts, illustrated offline Help, searchable keyboard shortcuts, redesigned editor and table context controls, and the fixes merged since alpha 4.

Scope

• Windows x64 NSIS and MSI installers produced by the tagged Release workflow.

Verification

• pnpm check passed locally, covering formatting, types, lint, the production frontend build, coverage, and backend checks.
• pnpm exec tsc -p e2e/desktop/tsconfig.json --noEmit passed for the desktop scenarios, whose shared release-note fixture now identifies alpha 5's notes.
• The highlight drawings were rendered and inspected using light and dark palettes; all bundled SVGs parse and use the required canvas.
• PR CI passed frontend, backend, and the complete desktop E2E suite, including the release-note scenarios against alpha 5. The merge commit has the same file tree as the verified preparation head.
• Main CI passed frontend, backend, and desktop E2E checks. The tagged Release workflow passed its checks and built both Windows x64 installers. Tag v0.1.0-alpha.5 points to the merged preparation commit, 75aedd0e3b0f95f981108eb866f2e4cf3d00731a.
• Both downloaded installers' SHA-256 digests and sizes matched GitHub's asset metadata. Read-only MSI inspection confirmed ProductVersion 0.1.0.5, per-machine installation, Open with candidate registrations for .md, .markdown, .mdown, and .mkd without default-app or UserChoice values, and the Leafdown.Markdown document icon.
• The maintainer reported the NSIS setup installer checked.

Not verified: MSI installation, and NSIS/MSI upgrade from alpha 4, uninstall, and Open with lifecycle behavior. These checks are deferred for this prerelease by maintainer decision and disclosed in the release notes. Package metadata inspection does not establish installed behavior.

Notes

The maintainer checked the NSIS setup installer and approved publishing this prerelease with the remaining installer checks deferred. The release notes disclose the verification gap.
