This pull request introduces new models for telework_arrangement and telework_duration, replacing the previous telecommute_status model, and updates the configuration to support these new models. The changes add detailed specifications, coefficients, and mappings for both telework arrangement and duration, along with new output variables and logic for classifying individuals' work-from-home behaviors.

Key changes include:

Addition of Telework Arrangement Model:

  • Added new model configuration files for telework_arrangement, including specifications (telework_arrangement.csv), coefficients (telework_arrangement_coeffs.csv), and YAML configuration (telework_arrangement.yaml). This model simulates whether workers have in-home work activities or not on the simulation day.

  • Updated the annotate_persons_mtf.csv to compute and label telework arrangement categories for each person based on their work tours and in-home work activity.

Addition of Telework Duration Model:

  • Introduced a new telework duration model with specifications (telework_duration.csv), coefficients (telework_duration_coeffs.csv), alternatives (telework_duration_alts.csv), probability mappings (telework_duration_probs.csv, if the probabilistic option is selected), and configuration (telework_duration.yaml). This model assigns a duration category and estimated hours for teleworking individuals.

Configuration and Pipeline Updates:

  • Replaced the telecommute_status model with telework_arrangement and telework_duration in all main settings files (settings.yaml, settings_mp.yaml, and settings_mp_sharrow.yaml), as well as in the regression test pipeline.

These changes collectively modernize and enhance the simulation of telework behaviors, providing more granular outputs and flexibility for scenario analysis.
