mounting from readonly media fails

When using Veracrypt on read-only media it fails.

Expected behavior

it mounts as read only

Observed behavior

device-mapper: reload ioctl on veracrypt1 failed: Read-only file system
Command failed

Steps to reproduce

1. 1 make a veracrypt volume on a medium you can prevent writing from (I have a Veracrypt partition on an RDX drive with a write protect switch, an SD card, or a microSD in an SD Adapter should also work if the reader checks for the write protect switch)
2. safely unmount, eject etc.
3. turn on write protect
4. insert into the system
5. try mounting in veracrypt
