From 6039dbb5b145522089a4271f5257e0e1d560b00a Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jesse Rosenstock Date: Tue, 20 Oct 2026 12:09:53 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] README.md: list implemented tools missing from the tool list cal, hexdump, nologin, and setpgid are implemented in src/uu/ and built by default, but the README tool list did not mention them, so readers could not tell they exist. Add each to the section that fits best, using the same status criterion as the rest of the list (option parity with util-linux 2.42 --help): - setpgid, nologin: all options implemented, so checked off. - cal: missing -1/--one, -s/--sunday, -S/--span, -v/--vertical, -c/--columns, --reform, --iso. - hexdump: missing -e/--format, -f/--format-file, -L/--color. The system cal (ncal) and nologin (shadow) on Debian are not from util-linux, so those were compared against the util-linux v2.42.4 sources instead. --- README.md | 4 ++++ 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+) diff --git a/README.md b/README.md index 2cc09095..6955d878 100644 --- a/README.md +++ b/README.md @@ -57,6 +57,7 @@ First, reimplement the most important tools from util-linux: - [ ] `prlimit`: Sets/gets process resource limits. - [ ] `taskset`: Sets/gets process CPU affinity. - [ ] `uclampset`: Manages process utilization clamping. +- [x] `setpgid`: Runs a program in a new process group. ## User and Session Management - [ ] `su`: Changes user ID or becomes superuser. @@ -70,6 +71,7 @@ First, reimplement the most important tools from util-linux: - [ ] `setsid`: Runs a program in a new session.
