This release brings major improvements to rendering on Apple Vision Pro, a redesigned asset workflow, new anti-aliasing options, and important stability fixes across the engine and editor.
Our focus continues to be making Untold Engine a reliable and accessible platform for building games and immersive experiences with Swift and Metal.
What's New in Untold Engine
Major Rendering Improvements for Apple Vision Pro
One of the biggest highlights of v0.24.0 is a significant overhaul of the headset rendering pipeline.
These improvements are particularly important for immersive applications, where image stability, performance, and visual consistency directly affect the experience.
Improved Project Organization
New projects now use a cleaner root-level directory structure:
Existing projects remain supported and can be migrated using the new
untoldengine convertcommand.Reliability and Asset Improvements
We've also addressed several issues affecting everyday development:
What's New in Untold Editor
Redesigned Asset Browser and Import Workflow
The Asset Browser now works with the new Resources/GameData project structure.
Artists and developers can import source assets into Resources, organize them freely, and cook them into GameData when ready.
Highlights include:
This separation gives developers more control over their asset pipeline while keeping runtime-ready content organized.
New Rendering Controls
The Editor now exposes more of the engine's rendering capabilities directly through its interface.
Stability and Usability Improvements
Moving Forward
With v0.24.0, we're continuing to strengthen two important areas of Untold Engine: rendering quality and developer experience.
The Vision Pro rendering improvements help us build more stable and visually consistent immersive experiences, while the new asset workflow makes it easier to bring content from creation tools into the engine.
We're also continuing to invest in reliability, diagnostics, and tools that let developers spend more time creating and less time troubleshooting.
Our vision remains the same:
An engine that empowers creativity and never stands in its way.
