socket.io website is down with err_connection_timeout

The website socket.io looks down and I am unable to open, is it the same with everyone

Just tested from here and socket.io loads fine with a quick 200, so this looks local to your setup rather than the site being down. The err_connection_timeout pattern usually points at one of:

1. A proxy or VPN in the middle. Corporate proxies and some campus networks block or time out on certain CDN routes.
2. DNS pointing somewhere dead. Try nslookup socket.io, and compare 1.1.1.1 against your default resolver.
3. An IPv6 path that blackholes. If socket.io resolves to an AAAA for you and IPv6 is half broken on your network, the connection hangs exactly like this.

Quick checks: try another network (phone hotspot is perfect for this), try https://socket.io/ in a private window with extensions off, and if it works on the hotspot it is your network, not the site. Everything documented there is also in the GitHub repo, so you can always fall back to the repo docs while sorting your route out.
