[FEATURE] add a Student profile & course personalization in the navbar

I would like to work on implementing a Student Profile & Course Personalization feature for OpenCSE.

Proposed Enhancement

• Add a dedicated Profile section where students can manage their academic information.
• Allow users to select their semester and subjects/courses.
• Display personalized course recommendations and learning resources based on selected subjects.
• Enable students to update their profile preferences anytime.
• Ensure the feature is responsive and integrates seamlessly with the existing UI.

Benefits

• Creates a personalized learning experience.
• Helps students focus only on relevant subjects for their semester.
• Reduces navigation effort and improves resource discovery.
• Provides a foundation for future features such as progress tracking, bookmarks, and semester-wise dashboards.

I have reviewed the project structure and have a clear implementation plan for building a clean, scalable, and user-friendly profile system. I would be grateful if this issue could be assigned to me under GSSoC'26.

I'd love to take on this issue! I've reviewed the project structure and this feature is fully feasible. Here's my quick implementation plan:

Profile Section – A dedicated /profile route with a student info form (name, semester, subjects).
Navbar Integration – Add a profile avatar/dropdown in the navbar linking to the profile page.
Course Personalization – Filter/display resources dynamically based on selected semester & subjects.
Persistent State – Store preferences via localStorage or the existing auth system.
Responsive UI – Fully mobile-friendly, consistent with OpenCSE's current design.
