From 15954c395313524dabd69058f2fda028cd4e846b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Daan van Berkel Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2026 10:51:10 +0200 Subject: [PATCH 1/3] Add title.xml to .gitignore This caught my eye when trying out PackageMaker and running `gap makedoc.g`. It creates `/doc/title.md`. The top five active packages as gleaned from gap-system/gap-packages, all list `/doc/title.md` in their `.gitignore` or ignore the entire contents of the `/doc` folder. This might be conflicting with packages that use GAPDoc without AutoDoc. But for newly created packages, it seems to me to be a sensible default, and a practice that should be advocated --- templates/.gitignore | 1 + 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) diff --git a/templates/.gitignore b/templates/.gitignore index de5e655..a297862 100644 --- a/templates/.gitignore +++ b/templates/.gitignore @@ -19,6 +19,7 @@ /doc/*.toc /doc/manual.pdf /doc/_*.xml +/doc/title.xml /bin/ /gen/ From 865f914056295372b34a4d737017b2e2253e8d79 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Daan van Berkel Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2026 12:16:44 +0200 Subject: [PATCH 2/3] Regenerate expected files --- tst/DemoPackage.expected/.gitignore | 1 + 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) diff --git a/tst/DemoPackage.expected/.gitignore b/tst/DemoPackage.expected/.gitignore index de5e655..a297862 100644 --- a/tst/DemoPackage.expected/.gitignore +++ b/tst/DemoPackage.expected/.gitignore @@ -19,6 +19,7 @@ /doc/*.toc /doc/manual.pdf /doc/_*.xml +/doc/title.xml /bin/ /gen/ From d64f3161e2613980498efa3c64992df89f88ea65 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Daan van Berkel Date: Thu, 1 Oct 2026 12:30:42 +0200 Subject: [PATCH 3/3] Update the CHANGES.md --- CHANGES.md | 3 +++ 1 file changed, 3 insertions(+) diff --git a/CHANGES.md b/CHANGES.md index 047e0b9..c4e9146 100644 --- a/CHANGES.md +++ b/CHANGES.md @@ -1,5 +1,8 @@ This file describes changes in the PackageMaker package. +## 1.0.2 (TBD) + - The generated `/doc/title.xml` is ignored + ## 1.0.2 (2026-07-13) - Update the GitHub workflows to latest versions - Stop suggesting to add `Keywords` in `PackageInfo.g` (nothing uses them)
