Need to specify a licence

Currently none of the workspaces specify a licence, and authorship is unclear.

We typically go with MIT License for callstack libraries, with Callstack as a copyright entity. We have a track record of mixed ownership, e.g. here: https://github.com/callstack/react-native-testing-library/blob/0f5cc2e28f0decab86114a1398e0b70672a9e1e6/LICENSE#L3

Sounds good – I'm not clear who in all is involved and who is affiliated with Callstack, so how should it be written in this case?

Currently @mani3xis and @paradowstack are involved with this project and work at Callsack. I've taken a look at what Vite is doing for example, and they have this phrase "Copyright (c) 2019-present, VoidZero Inc. and Vite contributors". would something like this be ok?

Other than that, there's the contributors field in package.json, which would be great if you could add yourself to :)

I don't have any strong feelings as to which exact license to use, as long as we're using a liberal OSI approved license.

I agree making this explicit in the workspace packages is good 👍

For what it's worth, the root project does specify MIT in it's package.json.

Closing this as I've pushed a commit adding a LICENSE file to the root and added @mani3xis and @paradowstack to the list of contributors.
