Arabic text displayed reversed and unshaped (RTL not applied)

When translating into Arabic, the translated text is displayed reversed and with
disconnected (isolated) letters. The translations themselves are correct — the
problem is purely rendering: neither RTL reordering (BiDi) nor Arabic letter
shaping is applied.
