It may also be an idea to replace the `using default *.ngc' into 'using the default ngc' -- as that is actually the value it expects.

And finally - it sort of always forces a *.ngc even if you configure it not to. Which is a bit counter intuitive.

I do get your point. However we don't want to break every configuration out in the wild by disabling silently including .ngc to the extensions list. One possible solution might be to add a key word to explicitly remove it from the list (eg 'no_ngc')
