Right after I start gmoccapy but the 6_axis one doesn't throw this message. This is a fresh VM without ever starting LinuxCNC so I don't think I have a perf file?

The one that throws it is highlighted.

Not that was I thought, but I pushed a fix.
I cannot reproduce that, so please try to reproduce it (before pulling the fix) by clicking "Launch test message" in the preference page.

Oh, there it is! Launch test message triggers it, It also came back when I started it up again one time right away, and once again when I hit the preference button when it asks me for the code, so it's definitely random. No idea what would cause this behavior.

With your fix here: 31bd2e1 The test message appears just fine and so far the error is gone. Good work!!
