We have chosen CMU 15-445/645 Database Systems as our database course in the CS curriculum. This is a systems-based course focused on database internals. They list CMU 15-213 Introduction to Computer Systems as a prerequisite, in their syllabus.
In Borr, prerequisites are typically defined on a per-category basis (so Applications requires Program Design, Theory requires Math, etc.). I don't believe program design is sufficient for this course. I would go so far as to say, you probably need to finish OSTEP first if you're following the Borr curriculum to the letter.
We have two options:
- Add "Systems" as a prerequisite to "Applications"
- Move "Database Systems" to "Systems" after OSTEP.
