NMLinux — A free Linux adaptation of NETworkManager (Python/PySide6)

I wanted to share a project I built, inspired directly by your work on NETworkManager.

NMLinux is a free reimplementation of NETworkManager for Linux desktops, written from scratch in Python 3 + PySide6 (Qt 6). No code from NETworkManager was used — it is purely inspired by the concept and the feature set you designed.

What it includes

• Dashboard (local info, gateway, public IP, geolocation)
• Network Interfaces, Wi-Fi
• Subnet Calculator, DNS Lookup, Ping Monitor
• IP Scanner, Port Scanner, Nmap
• Whois, SNMP, SNTP/NTP
• SSH with embedded PTY terminal
• Settings with i18n (French, English, Spanish, German)
• Cross-desktop icon fallbacks (KDE, GNOME, XFCE…)
